Star Jones and Barbara Walters are staging their own version of "The Hills" -- just 50 years later!

Star Jones unleashed a verbal ass-whooping on Barbara Walters today, telling Us Weekly, "It is a sad day when an icon like Barbara Walters, in the sunset of her life, is reduced to publicly branding herself as an adulterer, humiliating an innocent family with accounts of her illicit affair and speaking negatively against me all for the sake of selling a book ... It speaks to her true character."

Star is referring to the revelation Walters made that she had an affair with then-married Senator Edward Brooke during the 1970s -- and the fact that Walters claims in her new book Jones forced her to lie on "The View" about Jones' gastric bypass surgery.

For her part, Walters' rep refused to comment back, saying, "I will not dignify this with a comment. Barbara's written words say it all!"

64. Star is correct and Barbara should be ashamed of herself. What in the world did she expect to come out of this, he has a family? They did not need this information and anyone who buys this book is an idiot.

She tried to cover the Star "non-firing" by saying she was trying to protect her and lie to save Star's reputation. Anyone who believes that is also an idiot

68. I'll say it again....I LOVE it when women rip on each other. Notice you don't find a lot of men getting into fights about their lives, but women are all for it. Making nasty comments, calling each other names.....and it set backs women's rights 30, 40 years....but women don't care.

Hmmm, let's not watch Katie Couric cause we liked her better in the morning. I mean, it is the same newscast as the two white men on the other stations, but we don't want women to progress. And oh, I'm not voting for Hillary cause she didn't divorce Bill like she should have even though it's not our business to judge her. 70. I always hated this old lady, eyes never lie, NEVER, I always knew she has something behind, but you know what? OPRAH that bitch is even worse, that Oprah is a bitch who only think in money, money, money, and will push anyone over the hill for money and ratings, and I bet sooner or later that somebody will come out with an oscure secret about her, but I guarantee you that it will be 3 times that this.

Barbara Walters always try to show her class but once again eyes don't lie EVER, they way how she interviews people is so fake, closing her eyes her tone of voice making it so dramatic, exactly like David Cook from American Idol, that guy is so fake, false, double face, and only people with poor brain believe to Barbara Walter, Oprah Winfrey, and David Cook.

72. I agree with STAR. I have been cheated on and it is painful. Barbara doesn't want to be called a mistress, she isn't, she's a whore. I bet Elisabeth really wants to say something but she needs to keep her job so she can't. Never liked Barbara, she has always been ful of herself. Who else year after year after year throws themself a brithday party on TV more elaborate than the last. 74. Stars comments make no sense.... Babs hid something from the public that she feared would be setting a poor example....... and she asked Star to hide something from the public that she again feared would be setting a poor example. It is completely consistent.

75. She asked the former Senator before publishing it in her book. The only way she hurt his family is if HE didn't tell his children or his current/2nd wife. His 1st wife learned of the affair when he asked for a divorce.

As for Star, interesting how she is commenting on Barbara's secrets when she tried to keep her weight loss a secret. Why wouldn't she admit that she had the surgery to lose weight instead of eating right and pilates. I agree with Oprah, that is a heck of a pilates teacher.

It's one thing if the lie and/or secret is your own (Barbara's) but if you are having someone lie for you (Star) it's something totally different.
