Ashlee Simpson, Pete WentzSo who, you ask, was the phoney at Ashlee's nuptials? Rhymes with zomo.

Our moles tell us, when People cut a $1.4 deal for Ashlee's wedding pics, there was a g-string attached -- that Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo would be there.

It's kinda what we were thinking. Who'd pay that for Ashlee Simpson alone. That's why People wanted to put a pic of Jessica and Tony as an inset on the cover -- they sell, Ashlee doesn't.

Of course, the problem. Jessica and Tony split before the wedding. So you getting the picture why Tony showed? $$$$

A rep for People tells TMZ, "There is absolutely no truth to this."

56. Post 54-You are totally wrong about Carrie Underwood. I have met her four different times and she is like a totally normal person. Not like an A-list celebrity at all. She is funny and sweet. Those are just rumors she is called Americas Sweetheart too much and even the Grand Ole Opry which is in Nashville said she has the character and values we are looking for. So I really think you are mistaken unless you have had a first hand experience. As far as Tony goes, he is the nicest guy ever. I have met him as well. He knew Joe first, then Jessica. He considered Joe a good friend. It would not suprise me one bit for him to go to
the wedding to get Joe out of a bind. He doesn't need the money. He has a $67m contract. He's just the type of person to help anyone out. I've seen rumors that Tony is and has been talking to Carrie but they are and have been really good friends for a long time. Carrie said at one time he was her bestfriend so that may be all there is too it. Although Garth Brooks did marry his bestfriend Trisha Yearwood. So only time will tell as to what is in the cards for Tony. I just hope it includes a girl with some class and smarts and a trip to the SuperBowl.

57. #57 - I have no firsthand information. My info comes from a PR type who works with various CW artists, including many from my home state (Ronnie Dunn, Garth Brooks, Tricia Yearwood, Vince Gill, Amy Grant). My husband spoke with this person recently (March) at the wedding of a mutual acquaintance. Personally, I have never watched Idol, and I don't care for country music, so my interest in such matters is limited.

Romo has established his "type." My only prediction is that his next conquest will be blonde, curvaceous, famous, and not Carrie Underwood or Jessica Simpson.
