2. First of all, marriage IS the easiest way to obtain a GREEN CARD in this country. Granted he certainly wont be staying for the American health care, having a green card means he can divorce that naive girl and still remain in the country to WORK. Work visas statistically ARE hard to come by, no matter where you are from or what you do. Anyone in the entertainment industry in the UK would give anything to work in the US, that is a fact.
I shudder to think what their interview with immigration will be like. Also his body language was screaming DECEPTION.

3. He must be on a work visa, and he is obviously going to marry her before his work visa expires, and then his attorney will file to adjust his status to permanent resident (green card).

6. Word on the street is that Matt is going back home shortly, likely for good. I don't think the entertainment industry welcomed him with the kinds of talk show host / presenter opportunities he hoped for. If he ever returns to the US, I sure hope for his sake it won't be as Mr. Shayne Dahl Lamas. It must be a singular sort of purgatory to be hanging out with her, after dating and hanging with lovely lasses from Cambridge and Salve Regina. Go home, Matt. Get an MBA while the markets rebound. You can work in finance. But you do need a graduate degree.

9. Why so much disdain for a beautiful young girl who hasnt done A DAM THING to anyone including people at TMZ? This isnt news, its a lynching!!!! Shame on you! People dont even know her & out of pure ignorance & jealousy (yes I used that word because its applicable!) are crucifying her -- bunch of parasites! Evidently, Matt & Shayne know who each other other & have taken the time to get to know each other, you people could care less who they are. Is society so tainted that everything has to have a unsavory motive? 10. There actually are easier ways to get a green card, especially if you have some money. When you marry, you then apply for a green card, and you are subject to some pretty intense scrutiny. And where on earth did anyone get the idea that anyone from England would kill to work in the US? The UK entertainment industry is doing just fine.
