Drilling for oil is the problem, is a very short term fix for a long term problem. Really this is how Republicans do things, we put band aids on giant wounds.

Grabbing oil from Iraq has not one thing to do with the price of oil, it has to do with putting major US Corporations in control of vast quantities of oil instead of it being state owned like Iran and Venazuela do.

We are the largest consumers of oil, literally NOBODY has a greater impact on the demand for oil than we do and until this year oil consumption has gradually raised every year. This adminstration literally had 8 years to slow the consumption of oil in any number of ways. But why would they want to do that, the Bush family made their fortune and still have very strong ties to big oil. The Saudi oil minister literally has a last nickname of Bush, literally. Actually Canada uses more oil than the USA. Right now China and India with a billion people each are driving up demand. As their standard of living rises, with modernization, they require more oil. So you see, tool, even if the USA decreases it's demand the prices will keep rising because other nations are not necessarily going to decrease their demand. So we need to increase supply. Of course you are from the people's Republic of California so I wouldn't expect you, as a communist, to understand how the law of supply and demand works; along with the free market system.
