Mormons Slam Calendar's Missionary Position

Who knew a bunch of shirtless Mormon hunks could lead to so much drama?! Don't get your magic underwear in a bunch!
Mormon Docs: Click to read
TMZ has obtained a letter sent to Chad Hardy, the Mormon creator of the steamy Men on a Mission calendar, by the LDS church -- threatening disfellowship or excommunication for "conduct unbecoming a member." Coincidence? Chad thinks not.

Hot Mormons: Click to launchHardy tells TMZ he believes he's being targeted for the 12-monther -- but admits he doesn't attend church meetings or pay his tithing. He also believes his repentance will include closing up shop on the calendar, which he ain't ready to do. Save me Joseph Smith!

For their part the Church refuses to comment on the whole thing, "out of respect for the member himself."

We're guessing they won't like his next idea either -- Mormon Muffins: A Taste of Motherhood.

UPDATE: On July 13, Chad Hardy was officially excommunicated for "conduct unbecoming a member of the church."

76. I wonder why the mormon church is punishing him, yet it lets the Marriots sell hard core porn in thier hotels......I guess you have to be a famous mormon, not just a regular guy to get away with it.

77. Anyone who is "offended" by someones comments about religion have no idea how America works.

78. We do not let the general public in to our temples because what we do there is SACRED to us, not SECRET! There is a big difference! It is clear from atleast half of the posts on this site that we are right in our belief that the general public would not only not understand what goes on in our temples but make fun of it! I don't care what religion you are, it is wrong, wrong, wrong, to make fun of another religions beliefs! NO MATTER HOW STRANGE THEY MAY APPEAR TO YOU! To the idiot who says we are based on the occult or better yet that we make blood/death oaths-you are seriously demented! You cannot actually believe that and be a sane member of society! Next you are going to tell me that Mormons are closet Satanists who have alien babies and midget sacrifies on the alters in our temples! You sound so idiotic! Time to start taking your meds again, stop watching so many X-files and while you are at it take the tin foil lined pan off your head-there are no aliens making crop circles listening to your brain waves! Grow up!

79. justme: I'm sorry you had such a bad experience and lived in constant fear. www.mormon.org

As for the calendar story: we have been blessed with the opportunity to make decisions for ourselves. But with each decision we make, good or bad, comes consequences. We can choose which choice to make but we do not get to choose the consequences that come with our choices.

80. While the Mormons deny that they have anything in common with the Polig practices of the FLDS there is more to it than they would want to admit. First the church still performs polig marriages in that a man may be sealed to a second wife for the eternities if has first wife has died. (Of course women are limited to the one mate). Dalin Oaks, a current mormon apostle is still sealed to his first wife who died as well as his current one.

The Church has never retracted section 132 of the Doctrine and Covenants, a Mormon body of scripture, which authorizes poligamy. In fact most Mormons understand that it at some point in the future will be practiced again.

Of course FLDS poligamy has its roots in 19th century Mormon practices. While Joseph Smith did not marry 12 year olds he did marry girls as young as 14. In addition he married women who were already married. Those facts can be found in the Church's own geneology databases.

Just a note on tithing. Members are encouraged/pressured to attend "tithing settlement" at the end of every year where they have to declare if they are full, part or non tithe payers. On the other hand the church provides no financial information what soever as to how their member's donations are used.

by the way I am surprised to see so many Mormons posting here. This is not the sort of site that your leaders would approve of. Don't you guys have some home teaching to do?

81. It's called RESPECT. Everyone is free to choose, practice, and have whatever religion they choose. There are obviously a lot here that don't know that word. Let people choose and practice what religion they know is true. If you don't believe in it, fine, but at least respect others and their religions.

82. Note how Mormons always try to counter facts with feelings.

The do this because hard facts are not on their side.

Fraudulent bunch.

83. Mormons can have caffeine. We are specifically told to not have "hot drinks" which are coffee and tea. I dislike it when even members get their information incorrect.

84. I can't believe all the bashing. Very disrespectful. No one is making you join the Mormon church. You have your opinions and that's fine, but at least be respectful. And most of the stuff posted here is not even fact. Unless you have TRULY researched the religion, keep your mouth shut.

85. Lusty Lutheran Babes, Nuns Gone Wild, Buddhists in the Buff...I don't think there's a religion out there that claims moral standards that would be pleased with their name being associated with what they percieve to be salacious materials (clothed or not).

There are a lot of mormon's who make up their own rules and regulations and deviate from what is official church doctrine, sometimes these people are even in local leadership positions, but that doesn't make it right or doctrine. So all the weird counsel about sex rules is just that...weird, and not official church doctrine. The doctrine is: sex is reserved for within the bounds of marriage, anything outside is sin.

Mormon's that think that being deaded automatically gives them a planet are crazy. Read John chapter 17 in the new testament. We believe that Christ, through His divine grace, will bless those that keep His commandments. Including verse 24 King James Translation "...Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory"

There are mormon's at all different levels of committment, and understanding. Talking to people is going to give you a very human interpretation of a subject as complex as religion. We have very active members of our church who have all manner of imperfections. If you want to know what the church preaches to it's members, lds.org has all of the weekly lesson materials and archives of the general counsel given to members, nothing hidden. If you want a general introduction...mormon.org. There's also plenty of people who don't understand or who hate that are more than willing to give you their take, I just ask that you take everyone's opinions (mormons, ex-mormons, non-mormons) with a grain of salt...somewhere in the middle lies the truth.

On subject, I'm much better looking than any of those dudes.

86. This is for Brigham....Mormons talk about feelings a lot because they actually have them, unlike a lot of people here. And there are many facts to back it all up. Try doing your research first.

87. Oh and all you haters need to think about this little Bible verse Judge not lest ye be judged. Stop judging Mormons for their beliefs. I know that your churches and families have probably taught you to hate us while you should be learning about the Lord Jesus Christ. My church doesn't do that. And when did you all find yourselves to be so high and mighty. Everyone makes mistakes in life. Every church has some sort of sordid past, I am sure. I have never been to one that hasn't. And I used to be Baptist, Southern Baptist. I don't hate on Catholics for things priests have been publicized of doing. That isn't my business. My business is first and foremost spreading the love Jesus Christ has for everyone. And that is something that cannot be denied.

Oh yah. Any church that has not been rooted for at least 500 years can be considered a cult. So, maybe Baptists are cults. Maybe Methodists are. Maybe so are Episcopalians. Christianity used to be thought of as a cult. I bet many of you would never consider Christianity as a whole as a cult. So, just think. And people are really closing themselves off to wonderful individuals if they do not meet and befriend people from all walks of life and faith.

The end

88. The Mormon church has NO problem with any Mormon being on this site-there are no rules or regulations regarding that sort of think! I find it rather funny that you seem to think the church controls every aspect of our lives-we have this thing call freedom of choice and if we want to go on this site, we are welcome to it! While I currently have no home teaching to do, don't you have some coffee to go suck down while you discuss your self importance while whacking off to a Jenna Jameson porno and cap it off with a shot of tequilla and a smoke? See how stupid we sound when we make sweeping generalizations you idiot! Inastead of deflecting all your anger and self loathing on to the Mormon church, why not take a look in the mirror, get yourself right with WHATEVER God you believe in and stop worrying about what the Mormons are doing? No-you probably won't do that will you? You will spend the next half hour trying to come up with some witty rebutal, soemthing that will really put all these Mormons to shame...you are so pathetic!

90. Ha! If no one is making you join the Mormon church then why are your mishies pestering people.

Do you have ANY idea how they try to pressure people by telling half-truths and outright lies?

As to research, many of us have researched Mormonim more than members who are made to swallow the filtered truths from the Ensign and pulpit.

Your church's claims are built on FRAUGHT. You need to research more. What you don't know about your own cult is a lot.
