Different Spanish Team -- Same Racism

Not to be outdone by the Spanish national Olympic basketball team, the Spanish women's tennis team pulled the same offensive pose that's apparently sweeping their nation. Ay dios mio!

This racy pic was taken during preparation for their Federation Cup match against China back in April.

The photo still remains on the team's website with the attached caption: "Estamos preparados para China", which translates to, "We are prepared for China." Yeah, preparing for the backlash!

2. All I can say is they are JUST as stupid as the Spanish Basketball Team to think that these gestures are not offensive. Let them come to MY hood and do that and see if they dont get an ASIAN beatdown.... then they won't have to do that cause there eyes will be SWOLEN shut!!!!!!! hehehehehehe......

3. I have to agree that Spain is a country stuck in a different era. Mant Spanish are racist and have no problem admitting it especially when it comes to sports especially when it comes to players that are better than their own, which happens to be a lot.

4. As an american, I'm truly offended. Why would they do such a thing? It makes me have a dislike for spain, it's just wrong. Regardless of what you think of China, Spain is attacking them on nothing but a racist level. I think we should stand by China on this and never support racist comments or gestures.

7. That's quite stupid of them, if they were indeed trying to make fun of the Chinese in that photo. Regardless of what people think of Chinese politics or issues like human rights, Tibet, etc., China does have a very rich mix of traditional and historical cultural qualities that are greatly admired. You have to get past the surface of the daily news to find that though, but the search pays off richly. When thinking of the world's great cultures, I wouldn't think Spain would be in the top 20 but China certainly would be in the top 10 once you subtract the human rights abuses and oh yah, dog meat.

9. Maybe they don't see this as racist. Just because that is how it is interpreted here doesn't mean it is interpreted everywhere on the planet the same way.

10. Why don't people think. This is a childish thing for Spain's team to do. Your in chin's country and then you do something so stupid!!!! How would Spain's teams like it if the tables were reversed. I can think of some names that Spain's teams would not like to be called. Would they take it as just "foolin around". I don't think so. These are supose to be the best athlets from their country. Boy, what a way to represent your country, in front of billions. Grow up and act like adults. As the saying goes: "There's just no fixing stupid".

15. Monkey chants towards black players are common during Spainish scccer matches. They don't think they are racist either. Spain has huge problems, the biggest one apparently is even realising that these kind of things are racist.

Spain V England Soccer friendly. Monkey chants from the crowd everytime a black English player touches the ball:
