Looks like Emeril Lagasse and his brother-in-law are into different types of mushrooms, and this is an awesome story.

Kent Lovelace just got the BAM! for illegal possession of mushrooms in Mississippi. The cops tell us he got pulled over on Sunday because his car was swerving. He allegedly claimed diabetes made him weave (Emeril not feeding him enough?), but a search of the car turned up shrooms and traces of MJ.

Just to kick up the humiliation a notch -- we're told it was Emeril's wife (Kent's sister) who had to shell out for his $5K bond.

8. Are mushrooms illegal? Sheesh. Anything that grows and is in it's natural state should not be illegal... besides they taste so nasty it's a pretty desperate high, most people who have 'tried' them don't use them on any sort of regular basis. There must be more dastardly crimes going on in Mississippi to warrant their attention.

9. I didn't know people were still getting high on mushrooms. I thought that was jsut back in my hey-day. Even though they gow naturally, they are still illegal. I will never understand why alchol is legal and weed is not.
