Palin to Dina:

I'm the Real White Oprah

11/9/2008 6:13 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Sarah PalinThere are now two things from Alaska that are worth their weight in gold -- oil and Sarah Palin.

A slew of agencies -- including CAA, ICM and William Morris -- are looking to bank on Sexy Sarah's magnetic appeal to her conservative fan base, according to the NYPost. Ideas are floating around for Palin's own talk shows, political commentary on major news networks and even a multi-million dollar book deal.

Wonder who's gonna write it.

Matt - You don't have to worry about your taxes going up. Gas station attendants don't make anywhere near $200k.

Palin is awesome, and she will excel in anything she does! She has a HUGE following, packing in more at her rallies than any other candidate. She is beautiful, smart, and funny, and has come further in this world than most women. All the haters are just jealous. Anyone looking to promote or offer her anything is thinking a long the right lines.
Oprah is 10 minutes ago, and fat and ugly. And, her mask is off. She is a closet racist.
Everyone I know has boycotted Oprah and her mags. She has been losing mills. Don't believe me, check it out.

I'm going to ask you to do something that you've probably never done before, and that will no doubt be very difficult for you. It's called "checking your facts". However, it will be a worthwhile exercise.

Go on line and do some research into the election results. Look at the pre- and post-election polls and also the actual election results, themselves. In doing so, you will see that ...

1. Sarah Palin was highly popular among one group: the G.O.P. "base" of "socially conservative", "family values" voters.

2. Sarah Palin was highly UN-popular among the moderate, "swing voters" who previously gave their support to the Republicans in 2000 and 2004. In many cases, Palin convinced these moderates to turn away from McCain and give their votes to Obama. There are many more of these moderates than there are social conservatives, so this negative effect more than compensated for Palin's popularity with the Republican "base".

3. Sarah Palin was highly UN-popular with younger voters ... people under 30 or 32. She lost them by something like a two-to-one margin. This bodes badly for Palin in future elections, when these younger people will make up an increasingly higher percentage of the electorate.

4. This year, the polls turned out to be quite accurate. For example, the polls that came out right before the election showed a 5-7 percent lead by Obama in the popular vote. He ended up winning by a 6 percent margin. These polls showed Palin losing support in the weeks leading up to the election, and they also showed her driving voters away from McCain during that time.

So while Palin was exceedingly popular with a minority of Americans, she did poorly with the majority, and she did indeed have an overall negative effect on the McCain campaign.

This doesn't change the fact that she is very popular among the minority of people who weren't driven away from her. Maybe over time she'll be able to re-invent herself and increase her popularity with some of the people whom she turned off during the campaign. But as things stand today, Palin is much more unpopular among the majority of Americans than you and many of her supporters believe.

Don't take my word for it. Do the research yourself.

Don't get too comfortable haters. This is only the beginning for our Sarah. There is talk she may become senator from ALASKA . Wouldn't that be great , to have such a dedicated and bright new senator ? Though , can't figure out why she'd want to leave the beautiful & wild tundra for D.C. , the most dangerous city in the country.

What is your definition of a "closet racist"? Anyone who voted for Obama who happens to be black? If so, that shows a low level of intelligence on your part.

By that same "logic", anyone who voted for McCain and Palin who happens to be white would also be considered a "closet racist".

The only twos ways she can become Senator in the short run is if one or the other of the following sequence of events takes place ...

Sequence A
----------------
1. Ted Stevens wins.

2. Ted Stevens is booted out or resigns.

3. Sarah Palin resigns as Governor.

4. The new Governor of Alaska appoints her to be Ted Stevens' replacement.

Sequence B
----------------
1. The Alaska Senatorial election is deemed as being too close to call, which will result in a brand new special election for Senator being called.

2. Palin runs in this special election.

3. Palin wins.

In the first scenario, the reason she would first have to resign as Governor is because in Alaska, the Governor is prohibited by law from appointing her- or himself as Senator when there is a vacancy.

If Ted Stevens loses outright, or if he wins outright and continues to serve as Senator without resigning or being booted out, neither of these will be an option.

In 2010, the other Alaska Senator, Lisa Murkowski, is coming up for re-election. However, it will not be easy for Palin to challenge and defeat her, because Murkowski is also a Republican, and she's already quite popular in Alaska.

In terms of Palin's political career, she has a better chance for the Presidency if she remains Governor. If she becomes Senator, once she gets to Washington, every vote she makes and every word she utters will get recorded in the national media, and this can be used against her in future campaigns. The Senate is all about compromise, and so anyone who spends any time in the Senate ends up voting for things that seem to go against his or her core principles. This is often used against Senators during political campaigns, and it's one of the reasons for why Senators lose Presidential elections more than they win them. This election was an exception, but probably only because both candidates are Senators.

You may be right , but ALASKA is pretty isolated, rarely do we hear news from them , The Bridge To Nowhere was the exception , and that only because it was a negative story. If Sarah continues as GOv. then she will be out of sight out of mind.

Would you care to provide some evidence that Bill Ayers wrote any of Obama's books?

Oh, that's right, there is none. This is just another example of the lying Republican slurs that drove so many moderate voters away from McCain and into the Obama camp, and which cost McCain the election.

Keep going with this tactic, and you'll help the Republicans end up as big losers in the 2010 and 2012 elections, as well.

I don't happen to be that poster, but I do sincerely thank you for the kind compliment, Tumbleweeds. :)

I don't know if you'll be so complimentary, however, when I tell you that I voted for Obama.

As far as the majority of Americans are concerned, the less Palin is seen and heard, the less unpopular she will be. Look at what "Just the facts, ma'am" posted above. Palin alienated more former Republican voters and drove them away than she attracted voters to the campaign. In other words, her efforts represented a net loss for the Republicans.

That's why lots of Democrats are praying that Sarah Palin _does_ run again. They call her "the gift that keeps on giving", because they believe that she will continue to drive moderates away from the Republican Party.
