She's Like Arnold... With Underwear

12/1/2008 2:20 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Move over Kyra Sedgwick, there's a new closer in town.

Sarah Palin, the Britney Spears of politics, has been recruited to help campaign in the Georgia Senate runoff between Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss and Jim Martin.

The red elephants are looking to bank on Palin's pop star appeal to rally the low number of voters who turn out for these runoffs. The Governator of Caleeefornia used to be the go to guy....we're guessing flying commando may have made it problematical in Georgia.

Palin will hit four spots today in the Peach State -- but don't worry, no turkeys will be harmed in the process.

Sarah represents the real people of this country. I don't expect the city dwellers to understand her and that's fine. But can't we just move past the destructive politics?

The Liberals won the election.

Newsflash, the election is over. Let’s get back to trying to work together as a nation and solve the countries’ many problems. Let's see what the Liberals can do with the country. All the Liberal media and the other Liberal mouthpieces such as TMZ need to just let the election go and move past it. These repeated character assignations just cause a lot of unnecessary hard feelings. Again, both sides need to spot the bickering and try to fix the mess. The Liberal mouthpieces need to find another focus.

cowbulls, that was a reasonable comment, but you're not addressing nearly as many people as it may seem. What you are addressing is a severe, irrational and obsessive Palin hatred that seems to be endless. The multiple names are meant to make it look more wide spread than it is.

Truth is stranger than fiction

To Idaho Potato:

Wrong. Quebec does not have a Prime Minister…Canada’s Prime Minister is Stephen Harper. The province of Quebec has a Premier – NOT a Prime Minister in the same sense although the name of the title is interchangeable. The Prime Minster is head of the executive branch of government of Canada. Quebec’s Premier, John Charest, is the head of government of Quebec – not Canada. You also lied about what Palin said during this phone call. Here is a partial transcript. Absolutely terrifying:

FNS: Some people said in the last days, and I thought that was mean, that you weren't experienced enough in foreign relations, and you know, that's completely false, that's the thing I said to my great friend, the Prime Minister of Canada, Stef Carse [a Quebecois country singer].
SP: Well, he's doing fine, too, and yeah when you come into a position underestimated, it gives you the opportunity to prove the pundits and the critics wrong. You work that much harder-
FNS: I was wondering because you are also next to him, one of my good friends, also, the prime minister of Quebec, Mr. Richard Z. Sirois, have you met him recently? Did he come to one of your rallies?
SP: Uh, haven't seen him at one of the rallies, but it's been great working with the Canadian officials in my role as governor; we have a great cooperative effort there as we work on all of our resource development projects. You know I look forward to working with you and getting to meet you personally and your beautiful wife - oh my goodness! You've added a lot of energy to your country, even, with that beautiful family of yours.
FNS: Well, ah, I hope for you. You know we have a lot in common because personally one of my favorite activities is to hunt too.
SP: Oh very good, we should go hunting together.
FNS: Exactly! We could go try hunting by helicopter, like you did, I never did that.
SP: [laugh]
FNS: Like we say in France, "on pourrait tuer des bébés phoques aussi" [We could also kill some baby seals].
SP: [laugh] Well, I think we could have a lot of fun together as we're getting work done, we can kill two birds with one stone that way.
FNS: I just love killing those animals. Mm, mm. Take away a life, that is so fun!
SP: [laugh]
FNS: I'd really love to go as long as we don't bring your Vice president Cheney.
SP: No, I'll be a careful shot, yes.
FNS: You know we have a lot in common also except that from my house I can see Belgium. That's kind of less interesting than you.
SP: Well, see, we're right next door to other countries that we all need to be working with, yes.

Ark and IdahoPotato…
·
With all due respect, you obviously know nothing about Sara Palin. She is not only disingenuous, she is an opportunist whose lack of general knowledge and experience has tumbled her popularity in Alaska in recent months. This isn’t hatred; this is common sense and knowledge of facts; not media image/hype. Do some reading, and research, and stop lashing out at those who want something far better for their country than a Sarah Palin:
·
· Palin’s pork requests and spending earned her the oft-used nickname, “Queen of Pork.” Her spending of the federal earmark funds slated for the bridge to nowhere fiasco is now common knowledge. However, in February of this year, Palin’s office sent Sen. Ted Stevens a 70-page memo outlining almost $200 million worth of new funding requests for Alaska.

· Palin was completely false to the American people and her own constituents by claiming that she said, "thanks, but no thanks," to the bridge from nowhere and more earmark funding. In truth, it was exactly the other way around. Earlier Palin interviews -- as well as an article written by her own special counsel, John Katz, that ran in a March 2008 edition of the “Juneau Empire” -- prove this, unequivocally. She did not become a “born again pork reformer” until Congress instructed her to significantly decrease her earmark requests. It became a matter of her political survival and ambitions, and to negate a lot of negative press in the lower 48.

· Todd Palin is a former member of the Alaska Independence Party; Sarah Palin has attended at least two of their conventions, and gave them a “thumbs up” only eight months ago, advising them to, “keep up the good work.”

· Any Palin leadership activities or decisions with the Alaska National Guard are practically non-existent. She has given them no direction, no commands. According to General Craig Campbell, the service commander of Alaska’s National Guard, Palin gave him substantial authority to act on his own. She has given him no direct approval or disapproval of any action since she took office.
· When Palin took office as governor, she hired at least two friends and placed them in positions for which they had zero or little experience or qualifications: Franci Havemeister, a former real estate agent, was appointed to the State Department of Agriculture; Talis Colberg was appointed Attorney General. Talis was virtually an unknown and former assemblyman of the small Borough of Matanuska-Susitna. State legislators have complained that Governor Palin has been a "no-show" at certain important legislative meetings, and has come under fire for not responding to the communications and needs of a number of mayors and authorities throughout Alaska.

· Palin vetoed/slashed budget programs and projects during her first months in office that had to be re-instated due to public protest and further legislative action, simply because she didn't understand their importance. She didn’t know what she was doing. She has been under fire for her terrible track record on the environment, and for trying to remove sovereignty rights from native Alaskans in order to develop commercial fishing and hunting.

Some dude

You know this reminds me. You left wing whack jobs at TMZ were all over that story about the 150k wardrobe, like lemmings to a ledge, but where is the story about the 30k ring your messiah is buying for his wife?

You retards at TMZ should avoid anything political as to avoid appearing so incredibly moronic and maybe, juuuuuust maybe, keep what little; and I mean microscopic, journalistic integrity you have.

I also can't help but wonder what you folks are going to do when the dems who you seem to so love start legislating on behalf of the Hollywood lobby that sites like yours and Perez HAVE to be positive toward celebs and stop the negative stuff?
Don't think it'll happen? Just wait. You're going to get exactly what you asked for.

who has the facts? ME

Did the DNC pay for that ring that Obama bought his wife?? There is no comparison there if Obama bought the ring with his own money, what's your point?? I don't think Todd Palin bought Sarah's clothes for the campaign, did he?? Heck, Cindy McCain had a $330,000 outfit at the Convention...

Sumr

Of course the DNC did not pay for the ring Obama purchased for his wife.

Palin loves the media if it paints a glowing picture her, but yells “sexist” if the truth isn’t so flattering. Keep in mind that Palin used taxpayer money in Wasilla to have her mayor's office redecorated, twice.

Palin's show about how she buys her clothing at a consignment shop means nothing. The difference is that she had to pay for them. The RNC paid for the designer clothing for her and her family.

We caught her lying about the clothing twice. When she returned to Alaska she told reporters that they were “all in the belly of the plane.” Two days later, after a reporter told her that the RNC was coming to Alaska to check her inventory of clothing, she as startled. The next day she told reporters that they had gone through everything and “boxed everything up on her living room floor” and sent the clothing back via FedEx. Then a few days later her father said that she was going through their closets one more time – including her children’s closets to make sure they didn’t miss anything.

Pam

This older, hopefully wiser, republican thinks/wishes Palin would go away - hide in Alaska.

She is an embarrassment -both to the party and to intellegent women everywhere. I shudder and my stomach roils to even think about her being allowed anywhere near any heads of state of any other countries, much less near the white house or capital hill.

I will never understand John McCain's pick and believe me I have tried. Please, Ms./Governor Palin-- you have had your 15 minutes of fame - another second over that is waaay too much.

who has the facts? ME

Didn't she also get a boatload of money to "redo" the Gov's mansion in Juneau?? The one she hasn't stepped foot in since July? The one she doesn't stay at, and yet charges the state per diem to the tune of $44,000 to stay at her own house in Wasilla? She also spent almost $50K to "spruce up" her office in Anchorage. Oh yeah, she's living true to those principles..
She's got a heck of alot of "fiscal respronsibility" - you betcha!!

Sumr

I wish I could find some of these posts “amusing,” but I care too much for our country to do so. I agree with Pam. Sumr, Alaskan, Georgia, and Anon2 also had good posts.

What amazes me is the ignorance of “journalists” like Hannity and Greta Van (whatever-her-name-is).

No wonder people don’t know the facts about Palin. Just the other day, Greta remarked that Palin “governs a huge state.” 65% of Alaska is owned, maintained, and governed by the US Federal government. 10% of it is owned by Native Alaskans under Alaskan Native Sovereignty, which Palin is trying to take away. The State of Alaska only owns 25%. The poster who wrote that the number of registered voters in Alaska is smaller than the population of Staten Island is correct. One doesn’t govern uninhabited glaciers and forests they don’t own. Stupid. Just stupid.

People aren’t “hating” on Palin. They are alarmed at the ignorance of people who are too lazy and ignorant to research this woman’s record. They probably don’t even know how. Palin appeals to people who know zip about government, national and global affairs. No wonder the rock star status of Palin appeals to these types of lethargic dummies. She’s the Paris Hilton of politics, and represents the disingenuous ignorance and lowered standards that are slow-cycling this country right down the toilet. Truth is, she drove away more people from the McCain/Palin ticket than she attracted by the time Election Day rolled around.

yeah....and?

The people who support Palin and say things like 'she is truly amazing' just floor me! Are we all talking about the same Sarah Palin? Because, clearly, once she opens her mouth and all that verbal vomit comes out I can't imagine a person with any common sense can't believe we just dodged a bullet!

Wikipedia the whole lot of them, the Palin's the McMoney's the Obama's and the n truly read all of their bio's . Once you have done that I dare you to say that you still would have supported the Republicans running for President.

The woman is not fit to run her own household let alone the entire country! I think Idaho Potato wants a date with her! Ah, shucks ya'll! I tried to flirt my way into the White House and it didn't work! I'll keep tryin', you betcha! Please do us all a favor and just go away.
