Jessica Alba is fuming at TMZ for calling her dumb when she called Sweden a "neutral" country last week ... even though it currently has troops in Afghanistan.
She is absolutely correct. Sweden was a neutral country ... 60 years ago.
Even though she was engaged in a debate about the current political situation in America when she advised a reporter to "Be Sweden ... be neutral" -- Alba is swinging back at critics, like TMZ, on her blog saying, "It's so sad to me that you think the only neutral country during WWII was Switzerland."
She is absolutely correct -- when the Nazis were waging war on anyone who opposed Hitler's evil rule, Sweden remained neutral and stayed out of the war. After the war, Winston Churchill referred to Sweden as "that small, coward country."
We apologize for not considering the political climate of the world in 1942 when we suggested she may have meant, "Be Switzerland" -- a country that is currently neutral.

sweden was neutral during WW2 and SWEDEN certainly does not have any troops in afghanistan. I Would tell you to read your history books but i'm assuming it has no information in there concerning anything else but North America.
Stop critisizing her when you clearly know nothing about the subject.

Since when is an opinion, a viewpoint "ripping in?" That is my viewpoint as true as the blue blue sky. I do not subscribe to those tactics to prove my points. Alba is right and TMZ and all the O'Reilly fans are still wrong. Sweden is still neutral. Sweden sends peacekeepers, but it doesn't take sides. TMZ/O'Reilly can't claim that sending peacekeepers makes you a non-neutral, because that would make Switzerland non-neutral as well.

The commonly accepted reference to neutrality ALWAYS hearkens to Switzerland -- not Sweden -- despite Alba's claim to the contrary. Methinks the... um... lady... doth protest too much.

Ireland was also neutral during WWII if anyone cares. That was over 60 years ago along with the other countries. I think Spain was also neutral during that time.
