Jessica Alba Was Right ... We Were Wrong

Jessica Alba Jessica Alba is fuming at TMZ for calling her dumb when she called Sweden a "neutral" country last week ... even though it currently has troops in Afghanistan.

She is absolutely correct. Sweden was a neutral country ... 60 years ago.

Even though she was engaged in a debate about the current political situation in America when she advised a reporter to "Be Sweden ... be neutral" -- Alba is swinging back at critics, like TMZ, on her blog saying, "It's so sad to me that you think the only neutral country during WWII was Switzerland."

She is absolutely correct -- when the Nazis were waging war on anyone who opposed Hitler's evil rule, Sweden remained neutral and stayed out of the war. After the war, Winston Churchill referred to Sweden as "that small, coward country."

We apologize for not considering the political climate of the world in 1942 when we suggested she may have meant, "Be Switzerland" -- a country that is currently neutral.

Our sincerest apologies.

1. TMZ! I love you! You do brighten up my day.
Zing! Too funny that this, too, will fly right over her pretty, little head. =)

5. She is just one stupid bitch.

And I mean that on both counts. She seems to be both very stupid, and very much a bitch.

6. TMZ should be strong on this one, No apologies until she admits being an ungrateful C all of the time instead of being happy for the attention she does receive given how awful her acting and movies are.

7. These Hollywood bimbos....why they get to air their opinions, as if they actually had something intelligent to say...
I love your tongue and cheek apology to Alba for her 1942 comments. As long as thee brainiacs are allowed to testify before Congress and be given a political forum, there are always those who will actually listen to them. How sad.

8. Wow, she is a straight up witch. Bill O'Reilly may be rude, but atleast he knows that neutrality and Switzerland are synonymous. Good thing she can act, oh wait. Well there's always the Fantastic Four Part 3. I hate it when people (especially celebrities) who don't know what the hell they are talking about try to debate with people (in her case Bill O.) who do. LOL

9. Sweden is neutral today as well, its part of our constitution.

We send peacekeepers under UN flag to Afghanistan to help the people, not to fight a war.

The US was neutral in WW2 as well, until they were attacked in late 1941. Maybe TMZ forgot to mention that.

11. The commonly accepted reference to neutrality ALWAYS hearkens to Switzerland -- not Sweden -- despite Alba's claim to the contrary. Methinks the... um... lady... doth protest too much.

13. Ireland was also neutral during WWII if anyone cares. That was over 60 years ago along with the other countries. I think Spain was also neutral during that time.

14. I don't think she realizes her job is to simply sit there and look pretty. Opening her mouth just ruins it. Has she ever heard the saying "Sometimes it's better to remain quite and be thought a fool than it is to open your mouth and remove all doubt."?

15. Duh Sweden is *still* neutral -- with respect to NATO and any number of other issues. Feel free to look it up.

So who, precisely, is the fool here?

Riley, certainly, should know better.

As for you . . .
