Sure, their movie won an Oscar -- but yesterday at Santa Monica Pier, all the "Slumdog Millionaire" kids were focused on was winning Whac-A-Mole.

3. It's kinda cool that these kids are given the opportunity to travel and see other places and experience other cultures. Hopefully they'll take back some positive and fun memories.

6. I wish TMZ would use it's skills and resources to see if those kids got a fair financial deal with Slum dog.
Anyone who saw the movie knows they played a vital role and made a major impact on the film but I read some are still living in poverty.
I don't know if SAG has any authority to protect actors in foreign films with US distribution but someone is making one heck of a lot of money off that film and it would be a major shame if they were not even close to being fairly compensated.

10. Guess the attractions at the Santa Monica Pier beat hell out of the attractions under the Mumbai piers...

11. As these kids know, it's more fun to be on top of the pier than below the pier.

15. Yippebreath asked who these kids were, these are slum kids form Mumbai who starred in the oscar winning movie Slumdog Millionaire.
I saw a ducumentary on where they live & they live in abject poverty - handbuilt shacks made out of cardboard & corrugated iron.
1 tiny room where the entire family eats/sleep/live. No clean running water. the 'toilet' for the entire community is just a patch of open ground. So yeah - these kids deverve a break.
Regarding Honest T's concerns, I also saw that for every child who featured in the movie, they're family has been bought a proper house, school enrolment as well as financial support.
These are the lucky ones - there are literally millions of kids/families who will never escape the conditions above.
As for the father putting one up for sale I'd never believe the News of The World but you never know - it happens a lot in poorer parts of India
