While ear wax is gross, it's actually healthy for your ear. And you may not know this, but you're actually NOT supposed to put q-tips in your ear. "Don't put anything in your ear smaller than your elbow" is what doctors say. Earwax is produced naturally by the body to protect the sensitive eardrum and inner ear. Without it you could get a nasty inner ear infection, loss of hearing, and loss of balance. We Americans are very squeamish about ear wax, but it's actually good for your ear! You shouldn't "clean" it too much!

Any doctor will tell you not to insert a Q-Tip in your ear canal. NEVER put anything sharper than your elbow into your ear! And there you all sit trying it!

actually its called a cotton swab. Q tip is the name of a brand of cotton swab. its like saying kleenex when what you really mean is tissue, or windex instead of... glass cleaner.

That earwax isn't in his ear canal, it's in the outer part and is gross! I don't clean my ears every day but once in awhile is ok. That is so gross

It was probably from the pressure of the airplane, flying from LA to Heathrow. Still, looks gross. I think I could have felt that, though! Bet he uses Q-Tips from now on since this picture is now published.
