Comedian Robert Schimmel was arrested this morning for allegedly committing felony domestic violence.
Cops got a call to come to Schimmel's Calabasas home at around 12:30 AM. They observed physical marks on his wife. Law enforcement tells us there was an argument that allegedly turned violent.
Schimmel, a big comic who has appeared on Howard Stern's show many times, is being held on $50,000 bail.

Janny....you are so correct! There are two sides to every story and somewhere in between lies the truth.
This man has been through hell one too many times. His parents are Holocaust survivors. His sister was killed by a drunk driver, his son from his first marriage was around 8 when he died of brain cancer and he himself is a cancer survivor. I met him several years back and he couldn't have been nicer and very humble. Let's wait and see what happens. To all you other posters....get a life and stop judging.

Another Tears of a Freaking Clown....these comics like the one poster already said tend to be absolulte miserable human beings---drunk,drug addicted, obsessive compulisive, insenstive, sociopathic types....when the lights on they can come alive, but 99% of their lives, the lights are not on and they are miserable and at times dangerous to those they supposedly love.
This man doesnt need more jokes to tell, he needs to go find a Soul. His dirty act has grown tiresome. He survived cancer, now find the strength to go survive this, by starting to live without hurting those you supposedly love with your words, your actions and your fists.
Bet all those laughs with Stern are actually the cover up for the tears and insecurity you feel inside.

While I'll never condone a man hitting a woman,there are two sides to every story and I'll hold my opinion till I see pictures of his wife's injuries. I had a girlfriend who found out her husband had been cheating on her,she only married him for his money in the first place. After a big blowout he went upstairs to take a shower,she rubbed ashes from the fireplace around her eyes and called the cops. He went to jail for domestic violence which really helped her divorce settlement and he never touched her,she was very proud of herself.
He did marry a much younger woman and she probably is a gold digger.That's how it usually is.
I do know that he lost a young son to cancer,and he is a cancer survivor too.
He collects books,c.d.'s and dvd's at his shows for people in hospitals with cancer.
He's been through too much and done too many good things for people with cancer for me NOT to give him the benefit of doubt.
