Brooke Shields -- Kiefer's No Hero

Brooke Shields and Kiefer SutherlandBrooke Shields is squaring off against Kiefer Sutherland ... and it's getting ugly fast.

Shields' reps tell TMZ the man Kiefer headbutted Monday night in no way did anything to Brooke that would have warranted the alleged attack.

As we reported, witnesses say Proenza Schouler designer Jack McCollough knocked Brooke to the ground at an after-party for the Met Costume Institute Gala in NYC Monday night. But Brooke's rep says "nothing happened to her," adding "Jack did nothing inappropriate. It's not clear what caused Kiefer to do what he did."

Witnesses say Kiefer went up to Jack and demanded he apologize to Brooke. Jack allegedly pushed Kiefer and Kiefer then headbutted Jack.

But Brooke's reps tell us Jack, who designs clothes for Brooke, "did absolutely nothing to her."

Launch PhotosBut here's where the plot thickens. We asked the rep, "Did Jack touch her?" Their response -- "We don't know."

We're told Brooke will be interviewed by cops Wednesday.

22. There is an old saying, There are three sides to every story, His side, Her side and the truth. It sounds like all the facts were not reported. When I used to mediate cases, I found that the original complaint and counter complaint, didn't always tell all the facts.

27. TMZ: It's amazing that there are such condradictory stories posted...the 2nd (this one from Brooke Shield's point of view) was posted ONE MINUTE after the other story. Shouldn't these be put together instead of apart which makes it look like "Hey, Keifer's a hero"..."Wait, no he's not"......just seems really odd way of editing.

28. I didn’t realize this happened in NYC…In NYC it's legal to push a party out of your way if you feel you are in danger or that party in any way impedes you …Head butts are considered assault. I hope Jack presses charges on this over reactive punk……

30. Kiefer did what he thought was right..nice to see someone stand up for someone else in the day and age.If Shields wants to be pushed around and perhaps be the next Rihanna she's on the right track.
