Ean Evans, the bassist for Lynyrd Skynyrd, has died after a long battle with cancer.
It's the second death in the storied band this year. In January, Billy Powell, the former keyboardist, also died.

RIP Ean! i'll still be there this summer representing for one of the most important bands in southern rock.
They performed their entire set drapped in the Confederate Flag! As far as I'm concerned, one less artist!
But Sweet Home Alabama is a decent song...
and artie, not funny. i thought you were cooler than that... :-(
Best Band ever! But the original bass player died a few years ago the Mad Hatter. The only original member left I think is Gary Rosssington & he had a by-pass a couple years ago. But they are still good in concert as long as they are doing the old Skynyrd stuff.
FYI people- Ean Evans didn't join the band till 2001. will be missed just the same, but get a grip- most of you obviously do not have a clue..
sorry dude the real band died in 77, you were just lucky to have kool friends to bring you along for the ride
The new Lynyrd Skynyrd rocks every bit as much as the old Lynyrd Skynyrd, even more; their sound was more polished. RIP Ean,,,,,,tell all the boys HEY.
Ean, rest in peace, what a great artist you was. You will be so missed. So sad..Fly on, u r free at last, I can just see yall rocken it in heaven. Skynyrd continues to live on and your memory will also. Fan of SKYNYRD
I'm from his hometown (Columbus, MS) and we had a benefit for him and his family about 3 weeks ago-it's crazy to think he's gone so fast :( RIP Mississippi Kid!!! You will be greatly missed!
fyi for all you experts - "bitchslap" - you're not educating me on anything...and btw - the singer (JVZ) has been with the band for twice as long as the original was. yes, it's not the original singer or band anymore, but i give these guys credit for carrying the torch...long live skynyrd!
We'll miss you Ean! Have a good jam with Ronnie, Steve, Cassie, Alan, Leon, Billy, and Hughie.
