Sources connected to the Ben Roethlisberger sexual assault case claim the psychiatric care the accuser says she's under has nothing to do with Ben .... it has to do with a relationship she had with a man who never existed.
Andrea McNulty has sued Roethlisberger, the Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl champ, claiming he sexually assaulted her in July 2008. Sources tell us Roethlisberger and McNulty had a sexual liaison at the time but Ben insists it was purely consensual. We're told the two knew each other because Ben had stayed at Harrah's in Lake Tahoe over the last several years for golf tournaments -- and she worked at the hotel.
Sources connected with the case tell us a former co-worker of McNulty's at Harrah's came forward with this incredible story -- that around the time McNulty hooked up with Roethlisberger, she was allegedly involved with a married man. The man's wife, we're told, created an email account, posing as a U.S. soldier in Iraq. The wife began corresponding with McNulty to gain information. We're told the former co-worker has said McNulty fell in love with the fictitious soldier and began telling people she was engaged to him. When the wife stopped the correspondence, McNulty then began telling people the soldier was killed in action.
We're told McNulty told at least one co-worker she began seeing a psychiatrist because of the phantom soldier.
We tried repeatedly getting in touch with McNulty. So far we have been unable to reach her.

I'm sick and tired of naive people who read these types of blogs and stories about male stars who "assault" these women and are so quick to prosecute the accused without knowing the full details. Whether he did it or not, whether he's a celebrity or not, there have always been horny men not thinking before sticking and there have always been dumb women who sleeps with men thinking that they are going to live happily every after in Candyland. Some women don't report real cases of rape because of shame and fear of retaliation. Some women report a fake case of sexual assault at the first chance they get when things don't go their way. There has always been wives spying on their husbands, there has always been whores/homewreckers, and there has always been a dumb man to get sucked (no pun intended) into the hooplah. Innocent until proven guilty.
Danielle, that's a lovely speech about how Ben should have stayed home with his wife. The only problem with your scenario is that he's SINGLE. The guy had consensual sex with a girl who worked at his hotel. They were both single grownups, so what's the big deal? At least he wasn't married like her other lover. Apparently there was no problem because she didn't call the cops or report any rape or file any kind of complaint or visit any hospital for a full year. Then suddenly after she loses her married lover and goes into psychiatric care over an imaginary lover made up by her married lover's wife (how TWISTED is all of this) she decides she was raped by a football star. Does she call the cops? NO. She calls a lawyer and sues him for $$$$$.
This isn't about rape, folks. And it isn't about a football star who should stay home with his wife--he doesn't have one! It's all about MONEY. You may not like this guy or his team but that doesn't mean he deserves to be falsely accused of sexual assault and blackmailed by a nut job. And every time a woman does this she makes it harder for REAL rape vicitms to find justice. She needs to be drop-kicked down the Vegas strip!
Shoot.. played this exact trick on a guy in college. Set up a fake email account, and even went so far to set up a fake meeting at the library with the fake chick.. girl of course never came, when the guy came back to the dorm he told all of us his exploits with the phantom woman, until one of my friends blatted out she didn't exist.. lets say we didn't see much of him after that..

She is bringing a civil lawsuit, not pressing criminal charges. That is proof that she is just trying to extort money. Ho!
If he is "proven" innocent, she should have to do time. Although this will never go to a criminal court. He will roll over and pay out a huge sum in a civil court... What else could he do??
Question. If obtaining medical information on an individual without written consent (regardless if a "source close to the case" informed the media of the information), then isn't the reporting media in violation (as well as the "source") of HIPAA (protected health information privacy) violations?
This woman is a money hungry weirdo. Supposedly raped and then waits a year to file a civil suit and no police contact or charges when it happened? Maybe some NFL team is paying her under the table to fabricate this bull sh... to disrupt the Steelers training camp that starts next week.
