Katherine Jackson's lawyer is making noise that Michael Jackson's will may not be valid because it wasn't notarized. That's simply not the case.
Katherine's lawyer, Londell McMillan, issued a statement referring to a "suspicious circle of relationships" and an "unnotarized will."
But here's the deal. In California, a will does not have to be notarized to be valid. In fact, most formal wills are not notarized.

I don't understand why all the fighting over the will. As long as his mother is taken care of and his children get what is due to them , why contest the will ? Michael trust these men over family and friends. Michael must have known and trusted that they would do what he wanted them to.

Michael did not know who to trust. If that's not becoming glaringly clear as this story develops, I don't know what is.

This is just another McMillan ploy. He will not exhaust any opportunity to have him (via Katherine) be added as an approved executor along with Branca and McClain. Executors earn somewhere between 3-10% of the estate value so over time this adds up to a lot of fee revenue for the executors and their law firms. From one perspective he is supposed to be doing just what he is doing, but he has past the point of irritation in my opinion. He will continue until the judge officially declares McClain and Branca as the executors as stipulated in MJ's will.
Also, McMillan is not licensed to practice law in the state of CA so he does all this "releasing of statements" from his office in NY. He will continue to issue more of these silly statements up until the time that court convenes next week. Get ready for the fireworks in the courthouse!!
