Tila Tequila -- DA Made a 'Reckless' Decision

9/11/2009 9:15 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Tila Tequila is lashing out at the San Diego DA's office for their decision to not file criminal charges against her ex-boyfriend Shawne Merriman.

TMZ obtained the following statement from Tila's rep:

"Tila Tequila is the victim of a violent crime. The San Diego District attorney's decision not to press charges against Shawne Merriman for the battering of Tila Tequila demonstrates an unconscionable negligence in the discharging of their public duties. We strongly feel that justice has not been served in this matter.

Obviously, The San Diego Charger's NFL franchise brings millions of dollars in revenue to the city of San Diego, and it seems clear that other interests are being served by the DA's office than the upholding of the law. A young woman was violently beaten and choked, and the physical evidence is both overwhelming and disturbing. Tila's account of the events has remained consistent from the beginning, while Merriman's story has changed repeatedly.

Just because the DA has made this reckless decision doesn't mean that justice will not be served in this case. No one is above the law. Tila Tequila will immediately begin pursuing civil charges against Mr. Merriman and she will have her day in court."

This is insane!

I bet this really has nothing to do with abuse or assault. There's probably something else going on here between these two. Somebody has an agenda.

Just my two cents...

She wasn't beaten. She was restrained. If anyone should have been put in jail, it should have been her. Let's see: Leud and Lacivious public acts, drunk and disorderly, etc. I lived in San Diego, and the D.A. is one of the best. If there wasn't enough evidence, they won't go forward with it. If it would have been Bobby Brown in San Diego, He would still be in jail. Grow up Tila, and quit acting like a tramp.

SD DA -- don't you dare fall for TT's statement. Was she given a blood test when she was taken to the hospital to prove she was not under the influence of alcohol... or anything else?

Sorry-- The Chargers have NOTHING to do with this! Give me a break. Poway cops and county law enforcement are going to make sure they follow the law to the T-- even MORE than they would for anyone else because it did involve a Charger player.

Her rep says "A young woman was violently beaten and choked, and the physical evidence is both overwhelming and disturbing."
She went to the hospital and was released were are the pictures if she was beaten and chocked? The DA has no reason not to enforce the law. I bet she will file a civil suit next.
