Kanye West's day of contrition continued last night on "The Jay Leno Show" -- where he made his third apology for hijacking Taylor Swift's winning VMA moment.
A somber Kanye was visibly shaken by one tough question, when Jay asked "I was fortunate enough to meet your mom, what do you think she would have said about this?" West's mother died in 2007.
Kanye said he was "ashamed" of his actions and is going to "take some time off."

He seems sincere, so people should accept this. Lets keep this all in perspective; this was a MTV, award show, not anything meaningful.
'Yo Patrick Swazy! I know you dead and imma let you finish but yo, MJ had the best death of all time!' - Kanye West
He is only ashamed because all of the blacks didn't line up and defend him like he counted on.
He should contact Taylor and apologize in person. I think she will forgive him as she is a very sweet girl. We don't know if he is sorry for the backlash or for the deed. He should stop drinking on the red carpet and out on the street. It is illegal to carry a bottle of booze around in the public. I don't know why someone didn't take him aside before he got out of hand. People tend to worship these stars. I personally think he is sorry and will get his career back on track very soon. Jay should invite them both on and have him apologize on the show.
Kanye's mom (Dr. West) was a professor who quite her job to manage his career. Since she died he's been acting REAL crazy. He is NOT ghetto trash as some profs make as much money as some celebrities and his mom had the highest degee in the land.
Help people...my frickin ass! He's out for only one thing...himself. The man has never had a moment of introspection in his life. This did not sound sincere. He sounded sorry that his reputation has been hurt, that's about it.
more like ah..second...and it was obviously meaningful to taylor swift....and her friends, family, etc.
