David won an Oscar for his work on the score for the 1987 film "The Last Emperor."
Byrne is an avid cyclist and has designed a line of bicycle racks.
Talking Heads are genius. I once read that a psychiatrist analyzed the song 'psycho killer' and decided that it had been written by a true sociopath....lol.
David Byrne rules!
David IS talking heads. Heard much from the remaining band members? Didn't think so. Caught DB in concert about a year ago. Best. Concert. Ever. http://www.wegrokspock.net/davidbyrne.htm
For those of us that were teenagers in and in our early 20's around 79 - 84 heard some of THE BEST music that was made. Talking Heads ruled the airwaves and New Wave was washing over our rock and roll tired bodies giving us a fresh new look at music! Those were THE best times of my life.
Ditto what Whamo said:

You guys speak as though he's not still making music. His latest album is "Everything That Happens Will Happen Today" - a collaboration with Brian Eno ("My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts") Check it out - especially "One Fine Day" and "Never Thought" as well as "Poor Boy" and "I Feel My Stuff". That link I gave you earlier has pix of the limited edition of the CD.
David is a true genius of the lyrical world- his voice is still great ---couldn't wait to BUY the latest with Enos
Sure, he continues to make music. He provides music for "Big Love" on HBO. He is a talented man.
Having said that--when Time magazine dubbed Byrne a "renaissance man" for making music, visual art and films, well, that was about the time when the crescendo of hyperbolic praise for this guy peaked. Judging from the comments left here, there are still a lot of Kool-Aid drinkers left.
"Genius of Love" by the Tom Tom Club outsold every Talking Heads release, and Mr. Byrne was not in the Tom Toms. The Heads were a talented group made up of talented members; he alone was no more the T.H. than Deborah Harry alone was Blondie.
Give the man his due, but don't freakin' go overboard. Heck, Willie Colon just might kick his ass yet.
Same as it ever was...
Britney Spears might miss a lot more 'X Factor' auditions ... because she can! Simon Cowell gave Brit damn near free reign in order to sign the pop star to that $15 million deal -- but is it backfiring? We'll tell you what peeps on the set are saying.Plus, Chris Jericho's…
