Conan O'Brien took a break from deciding just how many millions of dollars he wants from NBC -- and whether he wants to work for it or not -- to take a walk around Los Angeles with his family.
Sometimes a guy needs to feel like more than an afterthought.

Conan is so much better than Jay Leno....personally and professionally.
Not having Conan on would be a shame, but maybe, just maybe, Conan will take some time off, be with his family and rake in some cash that will set him up for a few years. He's been going at it pretty steady since 1993. The guy is a great interviewer and a very funny comedian in his own right, which is awesome considering he doesn't come from the "stand up" stock that Leno and Letterman did. He's more like Carson and Steve Allen in that respect; naturally funny people. People want to cheer for this guy, and they always have, because while he comes off like an underdog, underneath you know he's the smartest, funniest guy in the "room" (late night).

Your personal energy makes it easier than ever for you to make peace today, and you're sure to face a few challenges. You should end the day feeling quite a bit better about your situation.
Take your time Conan and do what is best for you and your family....your talent will never waiver and can be appreciated anywhere you chose.
For many viewers, myself included, Conan is an afterthought. Why do you suppose his ratings are so mediocre?
Conan-Leno either is fine. However, what is interesting in this picture is the physical space between Conan and his family. Looks like not all is fine on the home front.
What Conan should do to screw NBC:
I read on TMZ that Conan is owed $80M ($20M per year) less whatever he gets from another job. He should go to Fox with a 5 year contract. The first four years at $30k and the last year for $99,880,000. Make NBC pay the $19,700,000 difference for those first 4 years and then have Fox pay him in year 5. Conan would get $80M from NBC and $100M from FOX. Not bad for 5 years of work.

To #10:
Conan's ratings have been mediocre for 3 reasons:
1. Admittedly, he's not everyone's cup of tea. He perhaps doesn't have the broad appeal that perhaps Leno has. (But I prefer his humor over Leno, Letterman, et al.)
2. Leno's new 10pm show was so terrible, it provided Conan (and the 11pm news) with a terrible lead-in, and thus poor ratings.
3. Sometimes these major changes just take TAKE TIME. When Leno took over the Tonight Show from Carson, Leno was a total bomb at first. Took Leno several years to find an audience. Luckily, NBC stayed with it, and it paid off. NBC doesn't seem to be taking the necessary time, this time around.
GEE....we NEVER see him or his family OUT, and now.....????
PLEASE GO BAKE IN THE SUN FOR THE NEXT 50YRS..!!
I loved Conan's show, it was different yet the same. Jay has brought nothing fresh to his show, it was a flop. Just like Katie Couric, they needed to give him time to settle in....which he did not get. I will return to Dave Letterman. Conan take the money go back East & live like Jerry Seinfield. Screw NBC!
