The Goldman Boys -- Just Happy to Be Here

1/16/2010 2:17 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

The New Jersey Nets are by far the worst team in the NBA, but there were two fans in the crowd last night that didn't care about wins and losses -- David and Sean Goldman.

Sean Goldman, David Goldman

David Goldman (left) was recently reunited with his son Sean (right) after a five-year custody battle with his deceased ex-wife's family in Brazil.

Next time try a Devils game, fellas -- you might see the home team win a game.

dropthatmoron needs to join Lucy and Ralph in group therapy...

No, they are not actors but they are famous for a few minutes and besides, TMZ is the one that submitted the damm picture for our consumption anyway, not the Goldmans. Don't worry as you can see we have now rejoined the world of Conan-Jay, LiLo, Britwit, and Jackson Creditors already in progress...it was nice to have a moment of levity for a few seconds though.

I'd rather read 10,000 stories like this than anything related to supposed "celebrities" like the Kardashians, etc. The shallowness and bitterness of some people is truly shocking.

This guy is a true hero.

This is such a lovely ending and, hopefully, they're in professional counselling as that evil Brazillian stepfather and the maternal grandmother put David Goldberg (along with this child) through emotional and psychological hell. Granted the customs may be different in Brazil, however this child is an American and it should never have taken all those years of separation (after his mother died during child birth) for him to be returned to the care and nurturance of his biological father. It's fascinating how the DNA imprint works as there is no denying they are father and son! May the angels protect David and Sean Goldberg in the years ahead. All people - Americans and others - need to think twice before they marry and have children with someone holding another country's Passport.

Apparently we are all idiots for wanting David to have his son back. And are stupid because we think it is great that he finally got his wish. I guess he SHOULD have just ignored the fact that Sean's stepfather kidnapped him and went on with his life... he can always have another son, right?

You must really be a moron, if you truly think that. And I hope that you never procreate.

I can only imagine the culture shock Sean is going threw right now. He went from a tropical location to the cold, cold weather in New Jersey. And he missed the snow because his dad took him to Disneyworld. But Sean you are now living in the place you were always meant to be living in. What a wonderful ending to a horrible situation. They are both so handsome, David was a former model and Sean could be a model himself. Best of luck....to imagine its been less than a month since they are together, they seem like they've been together forever.

Any nasty comments about these two people....well it must come from a nasty person.

I want to hear more update in the future, as long as Sean is not thrust in front of the cameras. I don't object to David Goldman showing clips of home video. It does not compare to parading a child down a street with many, many cameras stuck in his face.

I think David Goldman is father of the year. He never gave up, even though he had plenty of reason to lose all hope. His ex in-laws used their money and power to try to erase him from his son's life.

Thank you for this Article. Fathers’ right to be a meaningful part of their childrens’ lives, have been eroded to the point of non-existence. My research suggests that this is a phenomenon consistent throughout the industrialized nations. Children who are alienated from their fathers are more likely later in life to have emotional/behavioral problems, suffer from depression, drop out of school, fail in their jobs, and suffer from other social problems. I invite you to visit my site devoted to raising awareness on this growing problem: http://fathersprivilege.blogspot.com/

The David and Sean story is nothing short of a miracle. I am happy that the child is back where he belongs.

I think that Mr. Goldman needs to be VERY careful with Sean. The grandparents are said to have boat-loades of money. They could snatch Sean and hide him away forever. I pray that this doesn't happen but they are not to be trusted. While I agree that it will be best for the child to see the grandparents it is painful to think that they will be rewarded for such horrible behavior. As far as the stepfather is concerned, I hope that he will NEVER see the child.

I am so happy to see Sean re-united with his wonderful and miraculous unique dad.

I know there are people who advise keeping contact with the grandmother. NO, what is the point of re-visiting a dirty past of people who do not have Sean's best interest at heart, only think of themselves. I won't entertain or think of re-visiting kidnappers.

Move on into a new Life of your own achievements. Life is short, make the best of it, not wasting time on futile pursuits.

There is always so much to do. Do what you love with the abundance of love from your dad and the great Goldman family.
