Gloria Allred Client - Little Person, Big Problem

4/8/2010 3:01 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Gloria Allred is standing up for the rights of little people everywhere, by announcing she's filing a disability discrimination claim against a college that allegedly booted a 3'7" student because of her size.

During the news conference, Lydia Aparicio says she was attending Everest College in Reseda, CA to become a medical assistant, but was dropped from the program after school reps said she would never cut it in the real world because of her disability.

I am currently enrolled at Everest College Reseda campus, I know Lydia personally, and all claims Everest has made of her being placed on academic probation and given written warnings along with tutoring by her instructors are untrue, they will not be able to substantiate any of these claims when the time comes of course they cannot state the truth.

The fact of the matter is Lydia was passing all her classes and had already been offered employment upon completion of the program by her own doctor. If Everest claims were true why did the Director of Education respond to Lydia's letter accusing them of discrimination, by leaving an apologetic voice message offering to pay her full tuition $15000.00. If Everest was acting within policy they would not and should not have offered to pay.... they are GUILTY and all the students at the Reseda campus support Lydia….

There are certain requirements to enroll in Everest, and you must maintain a certain GPA and Attendance in order to continue. This student flunked out of her classes after being given several opportunities to re-test and was offered modified curriculum. Out of good faith, the school refunded her money when she was dropped from the program. She's not the first student to be dropped for grades and won't be the last. As for the alleged comments regarding her not being able to get a job, I know exactly who said that and she is an ignorant foreigner. The school did everything they could to accomodate her.

Your right many students have been dismissed/dropped from Everest Reseda due to violating school policy. but how many of those students have been offered a refund out of good faith, and why was that offer not expended to all students who were dropped, please explain.

Your right many students have been dropped from Everest Reseda due to violating their so called inconsistent policies, In my 6 1/2 month's of attending this campus and knowing several students whom were dropped from their programs, I don't recall any student receiving a good faith offer refunding their tuition cost. I do not expect special treatment but I will demand equal treatment.
