Kings' Joe Maloof Praying to Win Lottery

The co-owner of the Sacramento Kings is on a nine day prayer session for salvation ... in the form of the #1 pick in tonight's NBA Draft Lottery.

TMZ spoke to Joe Maloof -- half of the brother tandem that owns the Kings -- who told us he's been "on his hands and knees praying to the man upstairs" in a Prayer Novena. The ritual requires praying at the same time every day for nine straight days.

Maloof says he'll send up prayer #9 right before the draft lottery in hopes it lands him #1.

If he gets the top pick Maloof says he'll throw what he calls the world's largest lottery party in Sac town tonight.

Very Catholic.

It shows how no one cares about the crappy Kings. 2 responses to a story has to be an all time low.
I live near Sacramento, and this is one of the lamest places on earth. There is nothing to do here, and I'm sure nobody wants to play here. Yawn, another season of sub .500 ball is on the way.

Sorry it didn't pay off Joe, I was also praying for it. I'm a long time Kings fan. We will still get a good player with the 5th pick. It's time for some Petrie Magic! To the post above I live in Sacramento and I love it here! There are things to do and it's a great place to live.
