6/27/2010 8:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Fix this link guys...video is not working...But I would have to agree with #2, I bet he picked Jerry West or Kareem, maybe Elgin Baylor...there have been some great players on the Lakers...I'm sorry that should read; on the World Champion Lakers...suck on that Boston!!!

Who cares what Jalen thinks? The only reason Webber had the ball was because Jalen was running from it. All mouth and no game.

Jalen, Jalen, HOW could you stand there having a conversation with that IDIOT (can't call him a reporter).? The guy is PITIFUL, do theses clowns PAY to work for TMZ? Then he says, "that's what's up, that's what's up", these White boys need to STOP tryin'to talk street, they sound like utter fools. Dude, leave sports alone and go back to chasing Lohan or GaGa, something LESS manly.

so he is an NBA "analyst" but he said jerry west traded for pau gasol? actually jerry west hasn't worked in the front office for the lakers in about 4-5 years and definitely did not do the pau gasol trade. i like jalen rose but that is pretty basic knowledge.

Jerry West did NOT draft Kobe, he traded for him. And West was part of the Gasol trade. He traded him away from the Grizzlies. Maybe I should be an ESPN analyst...

Absolutely agree with Andrew and Cody. Jerry West traded for Kobe (who was originally drafted by the then Charlotte Hornets) for Vlade Divac, and also signed Shaq, when he was the Lakers' GM. Regarding Pau Gasol, Jerry West was GM for the Memphis Grizzlies (Pau Gasol's first team) for a short while, but retired from his position just before the Grizzlies decided to trade Pau Gasol to the Lakers.

Will have to disagree with Jalen, as I believe that Magic was the greatest Laker in franchise history. Like Jerry West, Magic also played in 9 NBA Finals series (winning 5, losing 4), had the most career assists at the time of his retirement, won 3 NBA regular season and 3 NBA Finals MVP awards, won 2 All-Star game MVP awards, an Olympic gold medal, and was an All-Star every year of his career. Magic is also co-owner of the Lakers, and continues to work with GM Mitch Kupchak and the Buss family on ways to continue making the Lakers winners.

A strong case can also be made for Kareem, as he won 6 championships, played in 10 NBA Finals series (won 6, lost 4), won 6 NBA MVP awards, won 2 NBA Finals MVP awards, was an All-Star every year of his career, and remains the NBA's all-time leading scorer.

The Lakers have always had such a rich and successful history and players (West, Baylor, Chamberlain, Goodrich, Worthy, etc.)

Kobe is incredible (although I'm not a big fan of his) and is the best all-around player in basketball today (sorry LeBron, DWade).

Who cares about his opinion!

I guess his Dad never advised him to think before you speak.

psst..hey If you look closely you can see a ex-NBA player's mind struggling to make a thought. This is very rare footage.

What about Wilt Chamberlain? He boinked something like 40,000 Lindsays during his career.

Cody, maybe you shouldn't be an ESPN analyst because if had any clue at what you were talking about then you'd know teams regularly tell other teams to draft 'so and so' player before a trade is announced. So yes, Jerry West did draft Kobe. The trade was agreed upon before the Hornets drafted Kobe.

Let's Talk Money!

hold up Jalen I like you and all but wasn't it you who was guarding Kobe when went off for 81pts?huh?Yes it was you and soon after that you retired! Still holding that grudge huh but you are not the first to let Kobe go off you just another victim!

If you dont remember you was playing with the Raptors when that happened West was good but he couldnt beat the celtics all the laker Greats has beaten the Celtics so when Kobe retire his Statue will be outside Staples with Magic Johnson Case Closed
