The cast of "Jersey Shore" is so dissatisfied over their contract situation that they refused to shoot scenes for the upcoming third season until they get a better deal ... this according to sources connected with the show.
The cast was supposed to begin shooting "at home" scenes today for season three, but we're told Jwoww, Ronnie, Sammi, Pauly D and Vinny -- who are spread out between New York and Rhode Island -- told the crews they weren't shooting without new contracts.
The Situation and Snooki are supposed to shoot tomorrow, and we're told Snooki plans to do the same. No word yet on The Situation, but as we first reported ... he's having contract issues of his own.
Sources close to the show tell TMZ the cast feels they can make more money doing appearances for two months, rather than filming the show.
A rep for MTV had no comment.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU GIVE NOBODIES FAME I THOUGHT THEY DID THIS FOR SEASON 2 AS WELL IF I WAS MTV I WOULD DUMP THEM THEY WOULD DOES THIS FOR SEASON 4 2 WATCH AND SEE
They get money for appearances because they have a popular MTV show. If they stop doing the show, they will no longer be in demand to make paid public appearances. They obviously didn't think this through.
Cancel the show, these people are ungrateful. Oh and Max, stop posting these stupid message.
They look like a gang of thugs. Cancel the show. I've never watched it, and I actually do watch some of that reality tv junk, but not that one. No interest at all.
They should be grateful for even being paid to do the show. The producers must have a headache from dealing with them. lol.
Finally the crappy show is history! I am so sick of these nonsensical people that were made "stars" and they are not. NJ is far from that bad.
So get better TV for educated people than this.
Alright, then let them go "make more money doing appearances" instead of filming. Two months later, without the show, everyone will forget them, their bookings will dry up QUICKLY, and they'll all go broke on tanning beds and Lamborghinis. GOOD RIDDANCE, MORONS!
