The Los Angeles Lakers are now part of the fabric of the Mel Gibson/Oksana Grigorieva saga, by delivering a huge solid for Oksana's son.
Several FOOs -- Friends of Oksana -- were bummed after hearing Oksana complain she couldn't afford to buy Alexander a nice gift for his 13th birthday. Oksana has been saying she's deep in debt because of her custody war with Mel.
We're told the FOOs contacted a couple of execs they knew at the Lakers organization and called in a favor ... and the Lakers responded.
Days later an enormous gift basket arrived at Oksana's doorstep -- filled with all sorts of Lakers swag for Alexander, including basketballs, jerseys, t-shirts, towels, a picture of the team, a pennant and lots of other stuff.
We're told Oksana is "grateful." We're guessing the kid is pretty happy, too.

oksana, thats what the lakers call payment for your lip services rendered.... well done.... and no just because all the lakers signed your right ass cheek does not mean you can get it encased in glass and have it auctioned off at sothebies to buy you and your gypsy band tickets back to the old country.... but if so make sure to leave lucia here with mel....
This woman has had everything handed to her. A Hollywood lifesytle, rich boyfriends, child support payments from rich celebs (She's still getting some from Timothy Dalton), she goes on tour for her *ahem* "musical career" - and it's still not enough. She has to have more given to her for her kid's birthday. I understand the Lakers point, they feel they are doing something for a kid that is needy. But let's be honest here. Her 13-year-old son's father is Timothy f-in Dalton.
Maybe next time you could do something for a truly needy kid, like one who has a single mother that works 3 jobs just to pay rent.

I am happy for Alexander, I think that he needs all the kindnesses he can get. I don't believe the poverty claims though.

I feel for Alexander. The poor child must be getting a bad time at school for his mother's licentious ways. But, as Disturbed wrote, HE IS THE SON OF A MOVIE STAR and there are thousands of needy kids out there who would be THRILLED to receive even ONE item from that goodie-basket.

The allowance she gets for Lucia in itself would cover the expenses for an adult and two children if she lived the life most of us "ordinary" people live. Why is she entitled to live in luxury??! AND - like previous posters have pointed out - Alexander´s father must be contributing, too, and he is definitely not poor.

This makes me ill. Ok$ani - you want, you need, why me, poor little ole me, can't afford to buy a nice gift for your son's birthday. Ever try buying say a wallet, CD's, books, computer games, calendar, etc. Have you ever considered opening a box of Duncan Hines, throwing in two eggs and making a birthday cake. Really, it's not hard to do. So the Lakers come running to the rescue. Try go buying $300 seats for a game like anyone else in So. California that doesn't mind sitting in nose-bleed. This makes me sick..Mel gibson and her are extremely rich..What about all the poor kids in los angeles that doesnt have rich parents or a home to call their own? what about those kids?
