Lindsay Lohan met up with her new best friend ... her probation officer -- which is no small feat considering she was spotted at Chateau Marmont last night.
Lindsay was at the courthouse in Santa Monica this morning, where she checked in with her probation officer ... on time.
Baby steps.

Jesus, give it a rest already TMZ. The Chateau Marmont is a world renown 5 star resort hotel and restaurant that traces it roots all the way back to 1920s Hollywood. It's not some low life Hollywood nightclub drug den as you always try to imply.

I think she will make it because she wants her freedom back ASAP and all she has to do is comply and stay sober until November 1st.
Judge Revel was making her stay sober and be on formal probation until August 2011.
She is facing 30 days in jail if she violates and the formal probation wouldn't end on November 1st.

If you are going to report on Lindsay TMZ at least don't be lazy about it. Lindsay was at the Chateau for a business dinner with Adam Leber. She left the Chateau with her assistant around 10.30pm and went straight home. Lindsay is doing good.
Btw TMZ, where is your report on Michael Lohan trying to sell Lindsays 2007 diary to an entertainment site? This so called father stole her diary whilst ahe was in rehab in 2007 and now trying to sell it to the highest bidder. Lindsay has now taken legal action against her father and as usual he has denied it. You should hear his excuse, its hysterical!

Uhhh... yeah, actually the Chateau IS an over-rated dive. Drinks cost way more than most other local spots, the decor is neither up-to-date nor authentic period-correct, it SMELLS, things are always dusty, and the staff treat all but the ultra-elite like it's a privilege to spend too much money there.
I'm sure that once upon a time (EIGHTY years ago), it was a chic, naughty hideaway for the entertainment folk who preferred not to mix with the commoners, but nowadays it's nothing more than a "look at MEEEEE" dumpsite for mostly has-been c-minus- listers to try feebly to relive their former glory.
I've only ever been to Chateau/Bar Marmont once.... that was enough. I've stayed at the Le Montrose ever since.... 1/3 the room/suite prices and none of the pretensious BS attitude that permeates all around the Chateau.

LMAO...you know when you have a substance abuse problem usually on eof the things you learn is to dis-associte your self from people and places and activities where you have had problems in your past...You would think she would have learned this but apprarently not, and the Lindsay supporters are as bad Dina in justifications of their explanations. But it sure isn't any coincedence that they repeat the same things over and over and over at numerous boards all over whenever there is a post on Lindsay..

I heard that Chateau Marmont used to be popular in the 1960...s and 1970s with rock stars. The drummer for Led Zeppelin, John Bonham, once rode his motorcycle through the lobby of Chateau Marmont.

I guess that place has some history and people kind of like that. I can see why that place is still popular. It's probably not a place to go if you're trying to stay sober and get your career back on track like Lindsay is though.
Lindsay should probably stay away from there and only go there for dinners or special occasions when she has something big to celebrate. Like a new movie premiere or getting an award or something.
Lindsay doesn't need to be drinking or doing drugs to have fun either ... even if half the people around L.A. are doing it. Lindsay is at the age where she shouldn't care about high school "peer pressure" and all that ... or missing some so-called "mega party" in L.A. where everyone is getting trashed drunk or whatever. The parties that Lindsay should be trying to go to are the Oscar parties where she's a nominee ... or part of the cast that is nominated. Emmy parties too if she starts working in TV.
I bet all the band members in Led Zeppelin were very serious about making great music and becoming successful. That's what Lindsay should be doing. She should set some goals and then work hard to achieve them ... one step at a time. There's a time for work and a time to have fun.
It's a shame that some of the best musicians and actors get sucked into the hard drugs, hard partying lifestyle. A lot of them could have had long, super successful careers if they didn't. A good percentage of them end up burned out and out of the business after the first couple of years of fame and fortune. Others end up dead like John Bonham did at age 32. He's widely considered one of the best drummers in rock and roll history to this day.

It wasn't John Bonham and it wasn't the Chateau. It was the Led Zeppelin road manager Richard Cole, and it happened at the Continental Hyatt (Riot) House - also on Sunset Blvd.
Might as well publish fact. The Bonham version is, however, pretty standard folklore.
