Lindsay's Mom $hopping

Post-Rehab Interview

10/16/2010 10:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

TMZ has learned Lindsay Lohan's sainted mother Dina is shopping around an interview for after she visits Lindsay in rehab this weekend ... and the asking price is in the five figures.

We're told Dina is trying to set up a deal that would include allowing cameras to film her as she went to the Betty Ford Center this weekend. Some reports have suggested that Dina is pitching a reality show based on the ordeal, but we're told that's not true.

Our sources say Dina is asking "in the high five figures" for the interview. We're told none of the proceeds will go to charity.

Sources close to Dina tell TMZ, “There is absolutely no truth to this.”

@120 Nicole

Plenty of misdemeanor defendants get jail time, the average person with a public defender pleads out to it every day. That's why the jail is so crowded. Formal probation is very common for misdemeanor cases and the SCRAM is also.

My point was that in LA judges are elected and in a system like that ending the judges career is not all that difficult for someone with press coverage. It is also fairly easy to make a ton of money by manipulating the press if your famous (look at Paris).

Lindsay is in a perfect position to do both and I find it hilarious to see someone like her do just that. It is especially funny because the judge(s) created this situation by not dealing with her back in 2007 and seeing the chickens come home to roost is ironic. The press makes money on both sides of the street and the spin they use is better than the comics.

Michael Lohan violated the trust of family when he secretly recorded those tapes and sold them to RadarOnline. He tried to sell some of them to TMZ, but they laughed in his face. He admitted himself to having created over 100 tapes. That's like Richard Nixon-type paranoia there. That's also what happened the last time Lindsay allowed this man in her life. He made his bed and now he has to sleep in it.

By the way, those tapes, which are like 3 years old, prove that Dina has known all along that Lindsay is an alcoholic and a drug addict. Dina talked specifically in those tapes about Lindsay mixing alcohol with Adderall and what could happen if Lindsay got behind the wheel again in her condition. She talked about failed attempts to get Lindsay back into rehab. Dina stated, on a tape that she obviously had no idea at the time was being recorded, that she tried to stage an intervention, but that Lindsay punched her in the face.

This was three years ago. Then all these tabloid reports surface, accusing Dina of being an enabler and being in denial. But Michael Lohan, by virtue of leaking those tapes to the media, provided all the evidence himself to prove that this is in fact not the case. What everyone here is suffering from is a case of selective memory, I suppose.

Rikwes: What drug-free country are you from? Is it one of the countries where drugs are legal? Where you can't even walk in the streets or use the parks because of all the needles? Where addicts are put on welfare so they can continue their addictions for the rest of their short lives? Where the government supplies them with cheap drugs and justify it by claiming the addicts will eventually seek rehab on their own? No thanks. Addicts need to suffer before they will ever willingly get treatment. We need to make their lives miserable as soon as possible.

And clogging our jails up with people like Lindsay Lohan, who are in the system as the result of being non-violent drug addicts, is not going to solve anything. When we run out of space to house people like Lindsay, which we will and we do, then what happens next? Do we start giving early releases to violent offenders? To people who committ assault and arson and armed robbery and rape and murder and attempted murder? To child molesters and pedophiles? People who runs scams to rob elderly people of their retirement savings? Seriously, have some perspective.

Besides, overwhelming statistics prove without a shadow of a doubt that incarceration does not cure addiction. It just doesn't. A, human beings don't respond positively towards negative reinforcement, which is why punishment is the only purpose that jail serves. It does not and cannot rehabiliate people. Plus, addiction is a mental illness. You cannot scare a mental illness out of somebody. You cannot "scare straight" somebody who is sick in this way. You can scare straight somebody who does something stupid and petty, like shoplitting or something. But you cannot scare someone away from addiction by putting them in jail. That whole argument is beyond illogical.

Robert Downey Jr spent 10 months in prison, got out, relapsed again, and wound up back in front of the same judge again. Eventually, he decided it was time to clean up, for his own sake, not just because some judge or the system tried to force him to do it.

There is something mentally wrong with this entire family. Hollywood needs to boycott them competely. They would all sell their souls to the devil for a few bucks and five more min. of fame. One is no worse than the other. I don't know if the entire family is on drugs or there is a gentic wire loose, but they are all bat sh@@ crazy. They are like a bad horror movie, you never know who is going to cut who's throat.

In 2007 there was reasons she got that deal and it wasn't just because she had Blair Berk. Also people were doing like 10% in 07. In 08 Michelle Rodriguez got 180 days after multiple VOPs and did 18 days.

When a person passess all their drug tests in the lead up to the formal probation violation hearing, hasn't reoffended and violated their probation on one count but were in substantial compliance i've never heard of in addition to a jail sentence anyone's probation being upgraded to formal 3 years later.

In both instances with the different Judges it seems like the proseuction have been the fairest.
In July = Asked for standard 30 days for violating probation
In August - Forced the Judge to recuse herself because of ex parte communications and didn't oppose early release from rehab
In September - Didn't oppose Shawn Chapman Holley appealing Judge Fox illegally refusing to set bail in a misdemeanor case

Hopefully on Friday Lindsay is like i'm refusing the formal probation i want to put this behind me and if the Judge revokes her probation then once she serves her time she will be out of the system.

"Dina may not be mother-of-the-year and has made some bad choices but it's still obvious that she truly does care about Lindsay, but Michael only sees her as his own personal ATM and will do anything to make Dina look bad."

I'm sorry .... not saying daddy is a prize ... but he admits his faults, and he isnt the one that has been expoliting his daughter and living off her $$$ ... That is Dina's job .... she partied with her UNDER AGE daughter all the way up to her adult life ... she is the ONLY one who has been mooching off Lindsey .... she is the enabler. I do believe Dina would only talk for $$$, she is using Lindsey for her own fame .... she is the biggest media wh&re of all times. Lindsey cant see it becasue she has been so brainwashed by Dina re her dad .... Lindsey shoe ban BOTH her parents, and tell mamma Dina to go out and find her own job, and make her OWN living and stop USING her daughter to live high on the hog .... good riddance to Dina!!!

@129 let's throw all addicts in jail, shall we?? I'm pretty sure doing that will ensure no one will ever be tempted again to use drugs ...yeah,right !Throwing addicts in jail has never ever worked ,quite the contrary, yet that is what some folks deem the best possible solution to the addiction problem in their country.

@133 I highly doubt that would work for Lindsay Lohan because that wouldn't solve her issues with regard to the cause of her addiction ( her family and inner circle ) .The fact she has checked into BFC voluntary - knowing full well that facility uses a treatment focused at the causes of the addiction - already shows that. In my opinion throwing her in jail would only make matters worse: she gets out and ends up back at square one with those leeches that surround her . In the end you also have to wonder what's best for taxpayers : throwing her in jail costs a lot of cash AND has a high probability of her relapsing once she gets out . Then you can all cry foul when something really BAD happens ( like a fatality while DUI ) .Or you can opt to focus your entire effort on making sure she doesn't relapse , and that automatically means treatment . No one but herself is paying for the current treatment as well so it also saves lot of taxpayers' cash.

131- Believe it or not there are people out there in the industry who are in the soul collecting business, literaly. I wouldnt be surprised if they both "souled" there quite some time ago, whether they know it or not.

@ 132 Nicole

I don'tdisspute that she had cir***stances in 2007 but she should have done some jail time and some formal probation.

The good news is that if the judge gives her 30 days on Friday it will resultt in her doing about 90 minutes in jail. 30 days of less is tag and release.

If she does refuse the formal probation I hope the judge does not slam her.
