Cake Boss' Christmas Confession ...

12/25/2010 5:45 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

"Cake Boss" Buddy Valastro revealed a Christmas secret even darker than devil's food -- there are better holiday desserts than the rich desserts that made him rich and famous!!

Buddy tells TMZ ... his family won't be dining on cake during their Xmas dinner tonight because, "All of the other desserts are so good!"

So what overtakes the cake -- Buddy explains, "For dessert we usually do tiramisu, cannolis, pumpkin pie, chocolate covered strawberries and of course our famous Carlo's Bakery cookies."

In fact, nobody will get a "Cake Boss" cake this Xmas -- Buddy tells us he's officially closed his shop for the day.

This guy was interesting when he first started but he's grown arrogant and nasty and I quit watching his show.

That's it! Buddy always seemed lovable on the Cake Boss. BUT on the Greatest Baker it seems like there is a mean edge there? To call a contestant a DISGRACE?

Umm isn't Tiramasu an Italian cake? Or am I mistaken...? True it's made with ladyfingers and mascarpone cheese. But for a baker maybe it doesn't count as baking?

I know what you mean. On Cake Boss Buddy gets irascible but the ultimately lovable Cake Boss.

But on Greatest Baker there seems to be a meaner edge. Yelling at a contestant that they are a DISGRACE?! It just is showing a meaner edge. Buddy don't forget where you came from!

I thought he was going to confess why his show sucks so much or why they stole the idea from Ace Of Cakes.

Took the kids to the bakery a couple of weeks ago (We came up to NJ from Florida). The cokies are crap you can taste the salt. The fondant cake was horrible. the crumb cake well, we just threw it away. He might decorate cakes well, but they are not for consumption. The show should be taken off the air, and the bakery closed!

Italians and their desserts - YEAAAHH. I married into an Italian family - there is NOTHING that compares to the dessert table at an Italian wedding.

Merry Christmas, Buddy & Co - hardest working food guys on television, period.

So, did he just call you up and tell you want he's having for dessert??? I know it's Christmas and a weekend, but this "story" screams Slow-News-Day.

Buddy's new show is awful. In one episode, he has the bakers working on a three foot cake and just when they are ready to call it a night, he comes waltzing in and tells them they have to make an Italian Sunday night dinner for all his guests. Now what does cooking have to do with baking????? I can't wait for this show to get cancelled so Cake Boss can go on again. It was a bad mistake from the beginning!

I just watched an earlier Christmas episode where Buddy is talking about how his cakes are a tradition for many families on Christmas, and that he is so proud so many generations have grown up coming to his shop to pick up x-mas cakes. Now that he has more money and famous...he closes on Christmas? Kind of makes him seem fake......
