CBS Reporter Sexually Assaulted in Egypt

2/15/2011 6:15 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

CBS News reporter Lara Logan was sexually assaulted after being surrounded by a crazed mob in Tahrir Square on Friday ... moments after Hosni Mubarak officially stepped down.

Lara Logan

According to CBS, Logan and her crew were covering a story for "60 Minutes" when they were surrounded by a mob of more than 200 people and she was separated from her security team.

CBS says 39-year-old Logan "suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers."

CBS continues, "[Logan] reconnected with the CBS team, returned to her hotel and returned to the United States on the first flight the next morning. She is currently in the hospital recovering."

Logan and her team had been detained by Egyptian police 8 days before the sexual assault -- and Logan had reported, "We were accused of being more than journalists, very frightening suggestions were being made. Suggestions that really could be very dangerous for us."

alot of dumbass stupid comments!!! i just read the story of Lara Logan, didnt even know this happened. First , its awful this happened to her, and yes things like this can and do happen all over, we just may never hear about it. She is doing her job and its a chance she is willing to take, to put her life on the line in dangerous situations. Of course all Egyptians are not jerks like the ones who did that to her. Just like all cops, lawyers , judges, presidents, etc.... are not all bad just cuz you have one bad ( or few ) in the bunch. What goes around comes around, so they will get theirs sooner or later!!

This must of been a real treat for a group of Egyptian men to get a piece of good looking American tail! Lara, you can look at this as our gift to the people of Egypt for their hard work winning freedom and write it off at that. You got to experience a little 'Sand Man' love along the way. As they say at the convenience stores in America, "Thank you, *** again"

MSM/Logan lied

Its a big lie by he, CBS and MSM

check out.

Logan HERSELF says that she wasn't raped. After letting the rumors stew in the MSM for weeks btw, I doubt this whole assault even happened. Logan is looking to cash in on her next big book deal (this was planned). The cheating on her husband and and home wrecking wasn't enough, this woman is going for broke.

Logan's first husband, Jason Siemon, was a professional basketball player in the United Kingdom.[3] She had a relationship with another journalist while in Iraq, and noted how her personal life had become "tabloid fodder" by the time she returned to the United States.

Her current husband, Joseph Burkett, is a U.S. Federal Government defense contractor from Texas, whom she met in Iraq.[24][25] They live in Washington, D.C., with their two-year-old son and Burkett's daughter

and her wiki page says it's under protection until a dispute of facts are figures out.

regardless of her infidelity, IF she got raped, it's F(cked up.

not to mention it never stated in any articles that it was anti mubarak protesters that raped her, i could have been pro-mubarak protesters. it did say the "millitary" accused them of being more than just reporters, and the fact that most rape is more about power and less about the sexual act itself, combined with the beating, i would figure that, A. the alleged rape was committed during a very emotional, heated argument, B. it was right before the government failed and mubarak walked, so i would ASSUME the accused was on the opposing side of the anti-mubarak folks, and C. in order to Frame anti mubarak protesters and instill fear into the press, the horrible act of injustice allegedly happened.

as far as i know, and this all i my personal opinion, her ass should not have been there without proper security, NO journalistic group or persons, man or woman, should be in that type of riot-possible area without PROPER training, as of weapons, as LEAST pepper spray, and visible identifying marking that there nonpartisan impartial press covering a story. and yes, sometimes a press pass will get your all beat.

train, infiltrate, report, and then GTFO.

Pleanty of blame to go around as follows:
1) The journalist culture that thinks they are neutral in Islamic controlled areas. They lack understanding.
2) The management that sends an attractive (appearance only) employee into a male Chauvanist dominated crowd. They lack for-thought.
3) the Journalist herself, though a victim, has essentially thrown herself in front of a bus.
4) The fundamental Muslim faith that has created a culture of bullying and mob rule (I come from a muslim family, my grandfather was an Imam. There are peaceful Muslims but they are either not fundamental or faking it.)
The crowd was further incentified by yelling out she was Israeli.
5) The Western world for thinking that in Islamic controlled areas the people want the same kind of democracy we have. In the USA and Canada we seperate Church, Culture and State. In Islamic nations they combine all three. To be muslim is a Culture, political policy and a religion.

Dont wait for change though. Funadamental Islam is growing by procreation and within one generation false peace will appear. so slick it will have most fooled. dont sleep people.

Report vs tourist:
tourists dont go and stand in political protests without any security. So just cuz egypt has tourists is not realtive to this story.

Muslim nations:
Just because this was a muslim nation is not the common ingredient. Any male dominated protests/riots in cultures that dont honor women is ripe of this type of occurance. Islam is just one of those cultures. Original old school Catholicsism is too. any culture that sets God up as a robotic caveman loses its fear of God and his power to defend the helpless. they eventually use God as an excuse to be barbaric.
Eg., the word "Slave" is not found in the King James Bible except once in Revelations. However many Jacobites and
catholics pretending to be "christians" used the bible to promote slavery.
(Now we see the newer versions use the word slavery to incite unrest...but I digress)
Rape and assult happen in all countries and cultures and is done by those who have no concern about what God will do both in this life and 1000years from now.

Sexual Assault variances:
sexual assault is and always will be a universal crime regardless of it's level of severity. It matters not if it happend to a nun or a prostitute.

Justice - spiritual and not always immediate:
God sees the offenders and will justly punish them in this life if they are his chilren (early death, disease and/or imprisonment etc); and for those offenders that are not his children, he will justly punish them in the afterlife.
For the vicitms who died and never had and chance to be adopted by God, they will be given a chance in the future to know who he is and how he loves them. and if they grant him an invitation/permission he will adopt them and heal them. until then they simply "sleep."
Everyone will have a chance for adption at some point in their life. hopefully your chance has not long as we have breath we have a second chance. Every day we awake is a second chance. Everyone will also see justice either on Earth on in the afterlife.

Can this reporter forgive her assailants by knowing God will deal with them someday? very hard to do with mental power only.
A boost of power can be obtained from the Father.
forgiveness is not the same as trust. It's not letting the offender go unpunished. It means that if we can punish them, it would not be out of hate or anger but for the good of our society. It means being able to pray for our offender's that God's will can be carried out. And that if we cannot punish them justly, God will in the future.
We are imperfect humans so our forgiveness will always be imperfect, but we must still make the effort.

we all have secret assumptions about others based on race, language, faith, education, gender, fashion, hygene etc. God teaches us to daily work on catching ourselves drifting into ignorance. we are imperfect and will naturally stray. it takes discipline, education, and understanding to daily check ourselves. Teaming up with the Father will give us the strength to love all, forgive all and tolerate all. Racisim is part of human imperfection and will always be ready to manifest when the opportunity arises.

Respect God the person, not the Robotic caveman:
No fear/respect of God as a person will empower racism, sexual assalt, slavery, dominance, injustice and the promotion of half-truths.
Religion is a trap. Being a true friend of God the person is the way out of this trap. Dont be a "christian" dont be a "Muslim" but rather be an adopted child for God and disciple of Jesus and his teachings.
One truth "Christians" have (but many dont act like they believe it) is that Jesus is God. The koran also eludes to this but muslims wont read it that way. The Koran says he was born of a Virgin and placed in Mary's womb by God. It says he rose form the dead. It says he confirmed the old testament scriptures as the word of God.
So the truth is that being a Christian or a Muslim means nothing. Being an adopted child of God is all that matters.
Be a Son not a Slave. You can stay Muslim or Christian in culture and meaningless religious rites but at least talk to him and believe in his son.
