Chris Brown

Apologizes for 'GMA' Outburst

3/24/2011 8:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Chris Brown finally apologized for his destructive behavior at "Good Morning America" -- but he made sure to take a few shots at the show at the same time.

Chris Brown Apology
Though Robin Roberts says Brown was aware she was going to ask about Rihanna, Chris told a different story on last night's "106 & Park" on BET -- where he said the talking points approved by his people were all about "positivity" and his new album.

Brown says he was "thrown off" by Robin's line of questioning -- and said she only brought up the Rihanna incident in an effort to "exploit me."

The singer says he then exploded backstage "to release the anger that I had inside me," adding that "I got very emotional and I apologize for that."

For their part, ABC News this morning said "Chris Brown was invited on 'Good Morning America' to perform and be interviewed. There were no talking points offered."

On this morning's "GMA," Robin added "It's time to move on."

I believe Chris Brown made a big mistake hitting Rihanna but for people to continue to drag on that situation when the man is clearly trying to move on with his life is not ok. If you where promoting your album that you spent all your time and effort on and someone just kept on bringing up the mistakes you've made diverting the attention away from the actual topic, your album your career your current life. Would you not feel a like fiery inside? This is his character, his money, his life. Then TMZ laughs
about Charlie Sheen's suicidal behaviors bad mouth and abusive ways. They find humor in Paris Hiltons Cocaine possession charges then says Chris Brown breaking a window in his dressing room could have murdered somebody? Get off his case plenty of people snap hollywood is full of hypocrites. Let this man live his life.

Don't like CB never did but sounds like Robin Roberts (um stage name?) is trying to save her a$$ at any cost..seems desperate and I do believe she over stepped her boundaries hence the above..nuff said

Yeah I know, it's ALWAYS someone else's fault when you can't control your anger, and Rhianna is the blame for all of this. Yeah, right! It would be different if the host of GMA threw a chair at him! And this apology makes it look even worse, because it's not genuine.

"Let He Who Is Without Sin, cast the first stone..." Now!! All ya’ll need to shut up! Because if it was your brother, father, uncle, or yourself in a similar situation…you know you would be praying to GOD for a second chance. So leave that man alone!!! It is time to move on and live and let live.

I don't condone abuse of any kind. However, I think Chris Brown has done everything asked of him. He complied with the law and he apologized to this fans, family, and Rhianna. The rest is between the two of them. Still, I think it was naive of him to assume that his past was behind him. Chris needs to realize that even if his career moves forward that incident will stay with him throughout. I don't think the media and the public will ever fully forget.

My opinion is that Chris Brown is very talented and has earned his second chance. He's appears to be a young man with a lot to give to the musical community. However, he needs to learn to control his temper...or at the very least grow up a bit as stop acting like a spoiled child throwing a temper tantrum whenever things don't go his way.

Hold your head up, Chris. Show some class and try to be above those that would try to knock you down...and for heaven's sake, grow up. You do have a long career ahead of you if you can hold it together.

TO CHRIS BROWN, ABC has invited you back to "play nice!" They know they made a mistake and want to make themselves look good. Please do not fall for it. Just concentrate on your music and listen to your mother. She is your BEST friend....

"Christina" Brown's mother is about as useless as "Kanyetta" West's late mother. Both women raised spoiled brats whom they coddled into weak, useless, spineless, self-absorbed young men with a deep and abiding love for other men, yet not enough courage to openly embrace their homosexuality. It is their constant need to hide the DL truth that fuels their unchecked anger.

If Chris Brown had a REAL mother, she would sit him down and say: "You are an embarrassment to me and to our family. Apologize immediately to Robin Roberts, to ABC staffers, to the innocent New Yorkers whom you endangered, and make full financial restitution. And do NOT do it on BET. Stand up LIKE A MAN and speak FACE TO FACE with the people whose premises you criminally vandalized." But Mrs. Brown will never say that because, like so many uneducated African Americans, she is more concerned with how much money her THUG son gives her than with his criminal behavior.

Butterfly, I realize that this is difficult for someone like you to understand, but a REAL MOTHER raises her son to be a MAN, not to behave like an uncontrolled, rabid animal for his entire life.

He is a bad example for African Americans. His anger is not gone, he proved that. I agree. His little boy look doesn't wash with me either. It will be no time before another explosion when the loser doesn't get his way. GMA was much too generous with him. I would have pressed charges. And they invited him back after the apology????? Love their show, hate their decision. Also.. he cannot even articulate a sentence without sounding like a thug and what is that crotch grabbing about? Disgusting. Hard to believe anyone finds that appealing. Tyler Perry is a wonderful example for African Americans. We need more of him and less of this anger-ridden wanta be gang banger creep.

i like chris brown and im no where near stupid! he made a mistake and he paid for it. let it go. yall act like she is so freaking innocent. she hit him repeatly. he got sick of it and she caught one. you act like he went ike turner on her. get a life and let that man live his. i dont blame him for going off and i wouldnt have apologized. she rehashed something that he wanted to forget. and she meant that he was going to talk about it. he wants to move on with his life and she was making him relive it. that was dumb on her part.

Well its no excuse to be violent, however, Why is it that News People need to exploit Over and Over and Over peoples problems. MOVE ON ... He came on the show to sing a song and whatever, then in an interview that gotta dirty it up. 25 Years from now Chris will be doing an interview and someone will bring up his ugly past regardless if hes been a Saint for the past 25 years. Lets Try Positve interviews.... Lets Play Nice for a change there is not enough of that in the world........

Chris don't worry about the haters, when someone does something in life that they are not proud of the best thing to do is apologize, get help for your issue and move on. That's what everyone else on this planet does. Your music will be around for a long time because you are really talented, so keep your head up. It seems to me that you are working on your issue unlike these messages on this board that I read.

I completely agree with Jack(comment306)..everybody likes to point fingers and talk crap, and had it been someone in their family who reacted that way it would be justified.
