If you become an alcohol and drug addict in your teens, 27 is about the average age that you will last.
Well I don't think she belongs in the 27 club with the likes of the others that are in it. It's sad she's gone and could not become a great like the others. She did have the voice for it.
She is 27. She is a vocalist. But I really do not see how she can compare to Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, or Kurt Cobain.
She could have been more but she just did not hit the same mark as those of the 27 Club.
"Cursed"? What a misleading and inaccurate description of what happened to these musicians... As to imply that their drug-addled deaths were somehow fated... They all died from years of poor decisions and rampant substance abuse, which takes it's toll on a young person and quite predictably so IMO...
please do not compare her to some of the greats....only reason i know who she is cause of her being a junkie
So, does that mean that if you make it pass 27 you're exempt?NOT...there have been many more over 27 who have OD'ed.
I really wish the young stars in Hollywood and the young stars in the music business learned a lesson from this kind of tradegy.
Amy Whinehouse probably wanted to be iconic like all the greats, like Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix.
Morrison and Hendrix were great talents first, horrible addicts second. Not true for Amy. Just a big, big addict with some talent.
