MJ Was Dependent On Demerol

Addiction Expert  -- Dr. Robert Waldman Testifies

Addiction expert Dr. Robert Waldman -- the defense's penultimate witness -- said Michael Jackson became physically dependent on the pain killer Demerol in the months before he died.

Waldman said Jackson received "unusually large" amounts of the highly-addictive drug during at least 24 visits to his dermatologist between March and June, 2009.

Waldman also said one of the symptoms of withdrawal from the drug is insomnia... a condition MJ was known to suffer from.

Defense attorney Ed Chernoff went over medical records from MJ's dermatologist -- Dr. Arnold Klein -- which showed each time Jackson went in for a botox  and anti-perspiration treatments -- relatively painless procedures -- he got a boatload of Demerol.

MJ started his "treatments" in March 2009 ... getting 200 mg of Demerol per visit. By May, he was receiving 300 mg.

During an extremely tense cross examination, Waldman admitted he couldn't say for sure whether MJ was addicted to Demerol ... but he would diagnose him as "dependent."

You got to love the stuperfans. They can't accept the slightest negative thing about MJ and anything said or done by the prosecution is infallible. Take a second and look at things objectively for once, sure Murray's guilty (in my opinion, though in the eyes of the court he is still innocent) but you take every single thing the defense does as a lie and in direct offense to MJ.

Remember, they don't have to actually prove innocence.

You stuperfans call all those here that don't worship Michael Jackson "HATERS" yet you spew hate at ever chance you get. Take what you think you know about MJ and think if he would want you to hate.

I think they should put Dr. Klein up for a malpractice suit and take away his license too.

This has made me love David Walgren so much more. He is an amazing attorney and is doing such a good job proving this case. Did you guys notice how Dr. Waldman said that he prepared the chart (that were so confusing) from a "written summary" by the DEFENSE?!?!?! Come on?!! And then when he brought up the mis-information in the charts, the defense had to further explain why there were some "mistakes". Oh I love it.

Side note for the defense: MJ and his many visits to Dr. Klein is not on trial. Dr. Murray is the one and ONLY Dr. That is on trial here. He gave propofol outside of a hospital, administered it to MJ without proper equipment to monitor his patient. He didn't keep any records. Notice how even though Dr. Klein is not on trial, he did however keep records of what he gave MJ, the time, and dosage (even though they really high). Dr. Murray keep nothing! He acted with extremely gross negligence when caring for his one and only patient. So they can paint MJ as this big prescription drug user as much as they want. It still does not erase the fact that he is no longer here due to Dr. Conrad Murray negligence.

Thank you!

Defence can't bring any better witness !! , This so called addiction specialist is not a board certified doctor, don't say where he works, can't make a simple chart and refuses to answer the questions. What a jerk!

TMZ reported that a couple of days before he died Michael Jackson received 50 shots of demerol from Dr. Klein. But how come in the autopsy report demerol was not detected in the singer's body? That's why I don't believe he was addicted to demerol.

IF MJ was an addict, and he very well may have been, that's all the more reason for Murray not to leave him unsupervised in a room with a boatload of propofol. If you put a demerol addict alone in a room full of demerol you know what's going to happen. It's entirely foreseeable.

You mean to tell me that MJ asked Dr. Murray to help him commit suicide? Dr. Murray stalled and stalled him, knocking him out each night hoping he would reconsider the next day until finally he gave in, and gave him his wish, sacrificing his own career to give his friend the relief he begged for. Interesting.. No less bizarre than anything else in his life I suppose. Good theory.

Its sad to see all the ignorant comments on here. This is a case about "accidental" death. Get a life Love My Fans and know your facts. No one is saying he set out to kill. Still he is a doctor and should be held to a higher regard.
Does anyone know why there is no live stream right now?
