Leonard Stone -- the guy who played Violet Beauregarde's dad in the 1971 classic, "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" died yesterday after a bout with cancer ... a rep for the actor tells TMZ.
Family members tell us Stone -- who famously delivered the line, "Violet, you're turning VIOLET!" -- loved being an actor and would often recite lines from the movie anytime people asked him to.
Stone also appeared on "Wheel of Fortune" back in 2000 ... winning $4,250 in cash and a trip to Bermuda.
He was 87.

Kim just heard about his winnings on the Wheel of Fortune and wants it for herself, since she remembers watching that episode.
You dumb *****, TMZ. You put Willy Wonka actor dead with a picture of Gene Wilder right underneath it? That's not necessary - are you trying to give people a heart attack? ********.
This is saddening news. Charlie And The Chocolate Factory was one of my favorite movies as a child (still is). He live a long life, may he rest in peace.
Makes total sense now because i could've sworn I saw Violet jumping up and down and screaming, "I WANT IT NOW!" at Occupy Oakland.
Oompa Loompa doompadee doo their going to have a funeral for you.
He had a small role in a film 40 years ago, and I still care about him more than I do Lindsay or Kim K.
