Penn State Trustees

Reportedly Ask New Coach

to Keep McQueary Off Sidelines

11/10/2011 2:15 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

1110_mike_mcqueary_getty_2BN
The Penn State board of trustees have reportedly asked new head football coach Tom Bradley to keep Mike McQueary from coaching from the sidelines on Saturday ... out of fear for McQueary's safety.

According to Pennsylvania's Morning Call newspaper ... the board does not plan to fire McQueary or ask him to step down.

McQueary is the person who claims he witnessed Jerry Sandusky raping a pre-teen boy in the Penn State locker room in 2002 ... and reported it to Joe Paterno.

While JoePa was fired for failing to contact police -- McQueary still has a job, despite the fact he also didn't call cops ... and worse yet, he didn't try to stop Sandusky from raping the boy when he had the chance.

It's unclear if Coach Bradley will pull McQueary from the sidelines on Saturday ... or have him coach from the skybox ... or instruct him to simply stay home.

The problem is people seemed to not know what is unacceptable. We need to educate everyone on child abuse, child rape. Adults and children.

Not only should the student body be up in arms and calling for McQuery's head on a platter but so should every parent that has a son on the football team at Penn State. If this McQuery could look a 10 year old boy in the eye while he was being raped and walked away, how in the sam hell can you even think this man is in any way capable of protecting your children now???
Who's to say he wouldn't walk away again if he witnessed something like that happening? He had a duty as an adult human being to stop the abuse! There simply are NO excuses in this situation! None should be accepted! All parties involved in any way should be fired for not contacting the authorities and saving countless children from this predator!!! This makes me sick to my stomache to think that so many adults failed to protect these young children. At 18 years old I started working with abused children through my program in college. How do you look them in the eye and not do something??? I knew at the young age of 18 abuse was wrong!!! How could this man at 28 not know? Radishes!!! Fire the arsehole now or make him stand face to face with the young lad and explain to him why he walked away!

Why didn't McQueary immediately intervene, rescue the child, and beat the tar out of that coach?
Everyone with knowledge who did nothing is complicit. I bet lots of people knew. This is just evil and inhumane on a really large scale.

He should be fired. What gets me is they haven't even done the bare minimum and put him on leave. Keeping him sends out the message that Penn State will tolerate their employees not reporting child abuse or a sex crime. That's not just wrong it's a very harmful message to send out.

Penn State keeps the man who was an eye witness to this crime, yet fires the man who reports it to campus higher ups and the director of campus police. Something is very wrong in Happy Valley!

I think MacQuery is getting immunity for telling the truth. I do believe he was the missing piece to make this case. If you have read The Grand Jury report witness are no longer around, ie. The janitor is almost a vegetable. Everything in the report is one person word against another or hearsay. I am furious at McQuery for not going to the athorities or interveneing, but right now he is the eye witness to this case so this is why I think he has not been fired. I hope he testifies.

Is McQueary the new face of PSU?

McQueary demonstrates that his abject cowardice continues to this day. He is not man enough to admit that he failed as a human being, nor is he man enough to be ashamed of himself. He’s clinging to his job with every fiber of his being. Hiding. Praying, not for the victims, but that he somehow keeps his position. Disgusting!

Is there any question that this POS, McQueary, needs to go? For every child rape perpetrated by Sandusky after 2002- he bears responsibility!

McQueary’s indecent failure to intervene on a child’s behalf, enabled a pedophile to continue to abuse an untold number of children for years! There is no excuse. None. McQueary, himself, told the Grand Jury he observed the rape of a 10 year old child. Yes, with his own eyes! A 6’5”, 230 pound, 28 year old man actually witnessed a child being raped. And he…..walked away.

Imagine what that little boy felt- watching someone who COULD HAVE BEEN HIS SAVIOR- abandon him. To save himself. To save his career. If only McQueary hadn't taken the coward's way out, and thought only of covering his own butt.  If only he reacted the way any decent human being would have reacted-  broken Sandusky's legs back in 2002, and saved that child.

He could have been a HERO!  He certainly would have been a hero to that 10 year old!

But....McQueary did NOTHING to insure the safety of a child being attacked, NOTHING to follow up on the health and welfare of that child, and NOTHING to bring a pedophile to justice and prevent other chidren from abuse and rape.

When it was discovered by authorities that McQueary had witnessed a rape, he was hauled before the Grand Jury and forced to testify. McQueary did not come forward on his own.  Remember that.

Daddy McQueary’s sickening excuses for his son, pleading for sympathy and time to “explain”, are outrageous! The whole damn family makes me sick!

PSU needs to send McQueary the message that his inaction, above all, was utterly unacceptable. He needs to be fired! Otherwise, McQueary becomes the “new face of PSU”. A coward- with no moral compass or ethics. An enabler to a pedophile.

MORAL CLARITY NOW!

P.S.  And to all of you McQueary apologists and excuse-makers who scream:  "We don't know how we would have reacted, had we walked in on a child being raped", or "McQueary did exactly what was required" (went to Paterno's house the next day, and not to the police?).  There is nothing "understandable" about McQueary's response, or lackthereof.   There is no excuse. Under ANY cir****tances. YOU PEOPLE MAKE ME SICK!

Save your pity for those who truly deserve it- the victims.

I am so perplexed by the board of trustees not letting go McQueary. Of all people, he had a moral responsibility to report this act to the police. Not to mention that he could have interupted the act in progress. Instead, he fled with his tail between his legs and ran to daddy. I have a son who is 27, and he said he never would have done what McQueary (at age 28) did. Hope he gets booed at the game if he shows his face.

Why is this man still a coach?????? He allowed a sexual predator among children and did nothing. He should be fired immediately. I don't understand all the people who are rooting for this man. He is as sick as the b****** who did it. How can you walk away from someone raping a child? HOW???? They should can ANYONE who had knowledge of this and press charges. Football is just a GAME people. It's not life or death. Get your priorities in order

Why fire Mike McQueary? 1. He saw a child being raped and did nothing. 2. He didn't call the police, he called his daddy. 3. He only told Paterno and no one else. 4. He never tried to find out who the kid was to see if he needed help. 5. He saw the pedophile return to campus again and again and never inquired as to why he was still free as a bird. 6. He never came forward to authorities until 9 years later, then only by subpeona.
