Natalie Wood Boat

Now in Calmer Waters

11/19/2011 3:00 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Take a look at the boat where Natalie Wood died.  It's moored in Kewalo Basin Harbor in Honolulu, Hawaii.

We've learned after the accident, the boat was sold and re-named Grateful Lady.  It was subsequently purchased by a Honolulu resident who returned the name of the boat to Splendour in honor of Natalie.

Fun Fact:  The owner changed the last 4 digits of his phone number to 9663 -- WOOD.

Also: By Wagner's own account, he returns to the cabin to find Natalie at her vanity brushing her hair. She's apparently in nightgown and fuzzy slippers. It doesn't seem to be the activity of a woman in distress nor planning to take out a dingy to escape the boat because of some argument with either Walken OR with her husband AND Walken. If she had left the two men arguing and planned to take some dingy back to Catalina, she would have probably been DRESSING for the journey - and a cold one it would have been in November. And she doesn't sound like a woman who would have even had such a plan come to mind.

So something occurred by Wagner's own account once he returns to the cabin (after breaking a wine bottle in an "argument" with Walken), and finds Natalie brushing her hair. Neither Walken nor Natalie seem to be in such a RAGE as is Wagner. And then with arguing with Natalie, she disappears and "falls" into the ocean at night. In nightgown and fuzz slippers while trying to "escape" the boat - or just WAGNER perhaps?

This is nothing more than a cheesy attempt to make money off the 30th anniverary of Natalie Wood's death. Some people have no shame.

Wow some of you FOOLS ( probably Wagners PR out in force) conveniently choose to ignore the FACT that she was covered in 2 dozen bruises and also scratched! That does not happen by 'stumbling' over a boat.

Sheesh!

Dennis Davern is the real killer of Natalie Wood. Read my book for details.

@nastynorm (no 34): And do drunks remove themselves from an argument, sit at their vanity tables brushing their hair only to be pursued later on by an irate husband who admits to having just smashed a wine bottle while with their "guest" in another room? It wouldn't take Natalie needing to run off to a dingy in order to "escape" at night in November in dark waters. She could have gone to the captain's room or Walken's room or the common room of the galley. She was running away from someone - someone who perhaps threatened or hurt her or who was, perhaps, CHASING her around.

Turns out that the only type of wood that doesn't float is Natalie. Yuck, yuck.

GTF over it, she died way back when that joke was relevant.

Lets see now.......
Robert Wagnor isn't a suspect
Christopher Walkens isn't a suspect
the Captain isn't a suspect.......\

and the only other person on that boat was Natalie Woods ...
So the police have a new list of suspects
SpongeBob .....(but he had a alibi) working nightshift
at the Crusty Krab)
AquaMan.........but Ariel the little Mermaid says he was
sleeping over at her shell that night
will that means.............
Yep ! thats right ...It ain't looking to good for Charlie , the Starkist Tuna......thats right ..he offered to comfort her in her time of woe and she rejected him...A wll that was the last reject he could take....the one that broke the (tuna's back).......and he took all his anger out on Natalie and then drowned her.........but its to late to bring him to justice cause he finely made the A-list and Ocean's Best offered him a deal he didn't refuse and he ended up in that great Tuna factory in the Sky.......

Sounds as good as the story the LA PD will come out with..cause Hollywood big boys will take care of their own like they did 30 yrs ago.......

Not knowing what she was getting into. Have Avery good visual of what went on because I have been in a situation not to far from that.

Witness Who Heard Natalie Wood Screaming Will Talk To DetectivesWitness Who Heard Natalie Wood Screaming Will Talk To Detectives

A woman who heard screen siren Natalie Wood yelling for help on the night she died in 1981 has told RadarOnline.com that she will cooperate with law enforcement investigators who've reopened the mysterious case three decades later.

In an exclusive interview, Marilyn Wane said: "I have not yet spoken to the police, it hasn't come up. But I'd speak to any police that came to me to ask a question, for sure."

Wane is considered a sensational new "ear-witness" in the case. She was guest on an adjacent yacht, roughly 90 feet from the Splendour, the yacht on which Wood, 43, was cruising with husband Robert Wagner and actor Christophe Walken in 1981, just hours before her Thanksgiving weekend death.

Wane said she heard, "This female voice yelling for help. 'Somebody help me, I'm drowning! Please somebody help me, I'm drowning'."

Wane never spoke to police, she admitted to RadarOnline.com from her Los Angeles home.

"I was never asked," she said, "and to be honest, I would have thought it (the case) would have been dead and buried after all this time, but I guess not.

"Everything that happened has been widely reported. So I don't know why the case been reopened, now. I am not sure why this new interest has been aroused.

"Don't we have enough current crime that we have to go back 30 years? It's kind of unusual."

Wood was presumed drowned, according to authorities. They theorized that she accidentally fell overboard when apparently trying to secure a dinghy that was banging against the side of the yacht and keeping her awake.

In a sudden twist, the captain of the boat on the night in question, Dennis Davern, has blamed Wagner for Wood's death.

When Davern was asked in a live television interview if Wagner, 81, was "responsible" for Wood's death, he said: “Yes, I would say so.”

He claimed Wagner had asked him not to take steps to find his wife.

It was a matter of, “We're not going to look too hard, we're not going to turn on the search light, we're not going to notify anybody right at the moment," Davern told NBC's Today on Friday.

Asked at a news conference on Friday if Wagner was a suspect, a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s lieutenant said point blank, "No."

The actor's spokesman has questioned Davern's motives since the captain has published a book about Wood's death.

"Although no one in the Wagner family has heard from the LA County Sheriff's department about this matter, they fully support the efforts of the LA County Sheriff's Dept. and trust they will evaluate whether any new information relating to the death of Natalie Wood Wagner is valid, and that it comes from a credible source or sources other than those simply trying to profit from the 30 year anniversary of her tragic death,” a statement read.
