‘Extreme Couponing’ Star

13-person, All-Nighter

Black Friday Shopping Spree

11/24/2011 12:42 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Joni Meyer-Crothers
Forget waking up at the crack of dawn to beat the Black Friday crowds -- Joni Meyer-Crothers from TLC's "Extreme Couponing" plans to kick things off the night before with an 11-hour shopping spree ... and an entire team of expert bargain hunters.

Joni tells TMZ, her plan goes into effect nearly immediately after her 25-person Thanksgiving dinner today -- starting at midnight ... her husband Jamie, armed with shopping list spreadsheets, will hit Game Stop with 2 friends. While they're there, 2 other friends will hit Toys 'R Us, and 5 will go to Walmart.

While they're all busy, Joni and her 2 daughters will head to Kohl's. The entire team will then rendezvous at J.C. Penney's, and march through Target, Meijer, Learning Express, Costco, and then ... the mall.

If all goes to plan, Team Joni will have all its shopping completed by 11am.

But Joni’s not going on a shopping bender for her health -- she tells us, all the items she buys will be wrapped and donated to 4 needy Toledo families in the name of her charity, Miracle Christmas.

Ohhh Meijer. L.A. needs Meijer. Or Meijer's as it's frequently called. The waste of time of having to go from Vons/Ralphs/Gelsons and then to Target is stupid. Sure, Target claims to have Superstores, but they're not the same. They have a very lame selection of food and produce. Meijer is like having a full-size Target and full-size Ralphs combined. Hence the size is enormous.

I thought about it, However I just cannot bring myself to Black Friday shop. Instead I just tell the family we have no money so stop asking me for anything. PS - There is no Santa Claus.

That's nice of her. All that running around sounds like a good workout actually.

These couponers should be lined up and shot! Nothing stops a line cold than some twit taking out a handful of coupons for things she didn't buy. I'm sure the people that are stuck behind her have better things to do.

reading through this article i was just thinking how mind-numbing and silly going shopping for 11 hours is. then i got to the last bit about them donating it all the the 4 families. that is really great, really really really great. nice to see people coming together, and putting a lot of time & energy into something so positive! Hope they have a Happy Thanksgiving and a very successful shopping trip!

run like hell if you come into contact with these arrogant super couponers! they will stall, stop, smirk and lollygag with no concern for anyone else. stores need a special line for these shoppers, they should not be allowed to affect everyone else so negatively, it really is a huge PITA.

Think of how much more impressive it would have been had she not run to TMZ to show off her good deeds... let's all pat her on the back, guys! Blech.

My question is "Who came up with the idea of putting out coupons that lets someone purchase your product for next to nothing?" All the coupons I see here in Canada say "Limit one coupon per person per visit" and "Cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount". I can understand a small rebate to get someone to try your product but, seriously, this is completely stupid.

She should just donate the actual cost of the goods. Wanna bet she'll try to take the full-retail price as a tax deduction?

that show is a rip off.most places wont let you use 5 cupons for one item like they do.

What a bunch of losers.

I like on that show how the people brag about having 10-years worth of this or that product--a product with an expiration date of 1 to 2 years at most. So basically the story gives away $500 + worth of merchandise that is going to end up in the trash. Or on a future episode of Hoarders. Smart.

I meant store--not story
