Nicole Scherzinger

30-Minute Crying Session

After 'X Factor' Elimination

12/9/2011 8:55 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Nicole Scherzinger ran off the set of 'X Factor' in tears last night ... when the audience booed her like crazy for eliminating Rachel Crow ... and TMZ has learned she was hysterically crying in her dressing room for nearly a half-hour.

Nicole was charged with casting the final vote between Crow and Marcus Canty ... but didn't want to eliminate either .. so she sent the vote to "Deadlock" -- which meant it all boiled down to the audience vote.

Crow lost ... and broke down in tears ... and when the host of the show asked Nicole to comment, the crowd unleashed a chorus of boos.

Sources connected to the production tell TMZ ... Nicole bolted right for her dressing room ... and was "inconsolable" about the situation.

We're told Crow -- who was a crying mess herself -- heard about Nicole and went to the judge's dressing room ... where the two cried together and Crow told Nicole she was not mad about the decision.

It's been a rough couple of weeks for Scherzinger -- as TMZ first reported, she had already been getting death threats and hate mail for voting Drew Ryniewicz off the show last week.

As awful as it is that Rachel was booted from the show, it was NOT Nicole's fault, if it would've been Paula's turn to vote, she would've been blamed, and the same if it would've been LA's turn as well. If anything, it's the voters fault for not supporting her enough, the kind of support Marcus Canty DID have. Besides, this is a show, sorry this happens, but it does happen, that's what the show is all about.

The whole idea of X-Factor's format of having the judges vote on the bottom two vote getters was to avoid the travesties as witnessed time and again on American Idol. That supposes though, that you have judges capable of discerning levels of talent and that "X" factor. The feckless Ms. Scherzinger obviously hasn't a clue in those departments, probably because she has neither and is jealous of Rachel who has more talent that Nicole ever will.

Regardless, those travesties were the reason I qui*****ching Idol a couple of years ago, and why last night was my last episode of "X Factor"; that despite the fact that Rachel was not my pick to win the finale.

If I want to see intelligence and intellectual honesty greater than that exhibited on last night's "X Factor", I can always turn to infomercials.

Kelly Clarkson is the first and only winner who actually by her voice got a recording contract. Grammys down the road. No one since.

go home!

Oh Please. It was not Nicole's fault as this is what America wanted. It was Nicole's fault that she was such a wimp that she could not make a final vote though. What is the point of having her as a judge? I mean c'mon, even Paula stepped up and voted out Drew last week...a decision I did not agree with, but she did her job. Now for Rachel, that was one of the best breakdowns in television history. Astro must be happy now that everyone wont be talking about his hissy fit anymore. Rachel needs to learn to buck up and screaming hysterically to her mom "YOU PROMISED ME!!!!!" Shows she is a brat. She was waaaay too fake and kitschy. Glad she is gone.

I DON'T FEEL ANY PITY FOR THIS LITTLE GIRL. She came in to the show trying to act grown up. Talking like a grown up. And gloating how she picked her own songs.
BUT SHE CAN'T LOSE LIKE A GROWN-UP. What she should have done was congratulate the winner. But instead she turned in to a 5 year-old right before us. LOL.

Rachel is a 13 year old girl with dreams ppl, her mommy promised her something, I don't know what, but if you watched it, there was pure panic and she's for real. She didn't fall to the floor faking, she was devastated pure and simple!!!! Nicole needs to leave the show, she is ridiculous!!!! Paula is not much better, there is too much hate on the judges panel. And to be so close to that 5 Million Dollar prize and then be voted off has to be the most painful moment ever!!!! I hope we have not heard the last from Rachel Crow, she is truly talentedl, unlike the Canty fella that won over Rachel. He is not a stand out talent, he's just like the rest of the idiots out there jumpin around and copying each other with raps, and flinging the hands and what not!!!

BB not bb

This is ridiculous. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes you have to make a decision. Why is everyone crying like babies? This cracks me up. Maybe the little girl is one thing, but the judge too?

These people need to grow up and stop taking themselves so seriously. It is only a game, a show, a contest. It is no big deal. It is supposed to be fun, entertainment. These people are hysterical over pretty much nothing.

I think the announcer made it sound like Rachel won when she lost, so she get overwhelmed and freaked out. They shouldn't tease little girls like that maybe. He should have just announced the winner, not the loser. It put all the attention on her for losing.

These shows have an intentionally mean undercurrent to them. I don't ever watch this show at all. If you are going to judge someone, at least be polite about it. Nicole was just doing her job, these people shouldn't try to make her feel bad about it. Maybe she was scared of more people wishing she'd die or something. All I can say is it happens a lot when you aren't rich and famous.

This shows looks like a really bad time. I won't be tuning in any time soon.

Good grief, what happened to good sportsmanship. Wasn't there any rules for these kids that regardless of the outcome you are to shake hands, and cry later. These kids need to watch old episodes of Star Search. I don't recall seeing such classless drama on that show..
