Beyonce on Etta James 'This is a Huge Loss'

0120_beyonce_etta_BN-01
Beyonce Knowles
-- who played Etta James in "Cadillac Records" -- has released a statement on the singer's death ... praising James as "one of the greatest vocalists of our time."

James infamously slammed Beyonce in 2009 after Knowles sang "At Last" at Obama's inauguration .. when Etta said, "That woman he had singing for him, singing my song ... she's going to get her ass whipped."

But Beyonce was gracious ... adding in today's statement, "I am so fortunate to have met such a queen. Her musical contributions will last a lifetime."

She continued, "Playing Etta James taught me so much about myself, and singing her music inspired me to be a stronger artist.  When she effortlessly opened her mouth, you could hear her pain and triumph. Her deeply emotional way of delivering a song told her story with no filter. She was fearless, and had guts. She will be missed."

Obama had better not comment on how great she was or how she will be missed
when given the choice for her to sing at the inaguration or to go with Beyonce...he chose Beyonce
you know that everythig that day was either orchestrated or approved by him
he went with the pop star over the legend
..style but not substance
funny...
that kind of sums up his presidency doesn't it?

Miss Etta was incredible, her loss unconsolable. The most ill conceived thing Christina Agualera ever did was that music video with the Queen. To think she could be on the same stage with royalty,

BTW, is it me, or is Beyonce starting to look really, really light colored?

For the person who bash Obama about using Beyonce and Etta. IU certainty would have loved to see Etta at the inauguration, but by then, Etta's performances were getting very strange. She was suffering from Alzheimer's and you could never know which Etta would show up. She did a performance in 2008 where they had to basically shut down the show because she was walking around the stage and talking gibberish. Sad but true. SHe really hasn't performed except in very controlled cir***stances in years.

Beyonce's regards on the matter are absolutely irrelevant. Who cares what this media, attention grabbing, money grubbing floozy has to say. So tired of her and her racist husband.

There's a problem here:  34 days ago

Beyonce, Beyonce, Beyonce. It isn't a huge loss. She was 73. She was sick. She left a legacy and anytime we care to we can hear her and remember what she gave. Those days were over. She passed. Bless her. It is no loss, it is a gain just by the fact that someone recognized talent and we all get to enjoy it into infinity. You, on the other hand, Beyonce are pretty much Spam to her filet mignon.
