Bobby Brown

Distraught After Hearing

He's Unwanted at Funeral

2/15/2012 5:15 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

0214_bobby_brown_exd_tmz
Bobby Brown is "extremely disappointed" after hearing that several members of Whitney Houston's family do not want him to attend the singer's funeral ... sources tell TMZ.

Sources close to Bobby tell us ... people connected to the Houston family have reached out to Bobby to warn him that he shouldn't attempt to attend the funeral because the family isn't fond of him.

However ... we're told Bobby has not received any OFFICIAL word from the family about his invite status.

Sources tell us ... Bobby WANTS to attend the funeral so he can support his daughter Bobbi Kristina, but he hasn't decided on a plan of action yet.

Bottom line -- we're told Bobby is hoping the family will be able to set aside their differences so they all can focus on mourning the loss of their loved one.

Come on people we all have our bad sides but when death hits it is time to push all ill feelings to the side. The man was married to Whitney for 15 years rather good or be they were married. Allow the man to pay his respects.

This make no sense it shouldnt be up to her family , their daughter is 18 she should decide . How the mother or the rest of them feel isnt important he should be there for their daughter. Lets be clear whitney had these addiction before she meet bobby. He didnt help the situation ,because had the same problem. With all due respect they need each other, they should be upset with the ones that allowed her to drink knowing she was taking presription drug it want work with alchol. I am a big fan of Whitney I luv her and Ihope the best for BOBBY ,Whitney daughter and her family. One thing I do know GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD and he will work it work it out . I LOVE YOU WHITNEY HOUSTON, i EVEN NAMED MY DAUGHTER WHITNEY HOUSTON, GOD LOVES YOU AND WE LOVE YOU RIP.

The Houston family needs to put their feelings aside in regards to Bobby Brown and allow this man to the funeral. Whitney was a grown woman and no blame should be put on Bobby re: drugs and alcohol because Whitney had a choice and her choice was drugs and alcohol abuse. I truly don't believe Bobby forced this upon her so peeps u need to get over it and stop putting blame on Bobby for Whitney's choices. Are you going to blame Whitney for the drug and alcohol abuse Bobbi Kristina is doing I'm sure she has seen her Mother doing all this ****. So let's get over it. In life we make choices and we need to take accountability for our own actions.

We are nearly certain that Bobby Brown got Whitney heavily into drugs at some point during their marriage. He was also (allegedly) abusive to his wife, who was much more successful than he was. HOWEVER, it's not Cissy's, nor Dionne's nor Aretha's right to say to Bobby that he's not invited to the funeral services of his ex-wife and mother to his daughter. Bobbi Kristina may want and need her father there to help her cope with the funeral services. Technically, as it has been pointed out here, Whitney's next of kin is her daughter, who is 18 years old and she should be the one to say whether or not her daddy should make an appearance. OK. He's been a s***. But, there seemed to be a lot of love between Bobby and Whitney during the married years as well after the divorce. I am fans of Cissy, Dionne and Aretha, but I certainly don't want to see them end up like Michael Jackson's family, taking charge of every material thing that Whitney owned.

It is really to bad, what happen with Whitney Houston, and now her family wants to keep him from comming to the funeral. Her family blames him for her drug abuse. They knew Whitney did drugs before she married Bobby Brown, she just did it along with him, he got off she stayed on. Whitney needed to be accountable for herself and her drug use, Bobby did not force drugs oh her, she did it willing. The reality is, God took her home, this is how her life was suppose to end. After all, The bible says that when it your time to go, you will not be fashionably late. He does not promise you, that you will die in your sleep. My wish for the family, is that they take car of her daughter Bobbie Kristina, because she is on the same destructive path, and they need to let her dad see her, and be in her life.

It should be up to their daughter and NO ONE ELSE!! If people are keeping her from her father at this time in the absence of her express wish not to see him, then they are wrong. And if she is so out of it that she can't express her wishes, then he should be allowed to see her. That is his daughter and he is her only remaining parent. It's no one else's business unless BK chooses to make it their business. He is BK's next of kin.

People need to get a grip, stop blaming that man for her death. Whitney was doing drugs before she even met him, when she first started becoming a star. Eddie Murphy use to date her back in the 80's and when he found out that she was getting married to Bobby, he told Bobby not to marry her because she was doing drugs and was using cocaine. Bobby was mostly a weed and alcohol man, they both chose each other and they loved each other. Where was her family when she first started using drugs, before Bobby came along? No where they were just enabling her. That child needs her father beside her during these sorrowful times and it shouldn't be left for her grandmother and Houston relatives to tell him that he can't be there for his daughter. Stop bashing people for others mistakes in life, they are adults and each adult is held responsible for their own actions.

Seriously. To not allow the man that Whitney loved the most to attend her funeral? That would be a slap in the face to her.

Are you serious? I never heard that she was forced to do drugs. she had a choice . She could have kicked B.B. to the curb a long time ago. She choose to do drugs. So don't blame anyone else for her actions. People are so judgemental and righteous. Think before you write...

When did Bobby Brown put a gun to Whitney's head? I admire her dearly but the fact is, Whitney was her own person and no one can force another individual to do anything they don't want to do. They were young, celebrated, associating with the wrong people, and perhaps immature as well, so there is enough blame to go around. Bobby had moved on with his life, he went to rehab and, so did Whitney. If the cause of death is Rx, how is Bobby at fault? Deal with present, not the past which is a diversion for what happen last week; blame the doctors who prescribed the drugs she was taking, the agent, the family who was with her and saw the prescriptions and handlers who brought her to California a week before the Grammy, knowing she was not a fully recovered addict, blame them, not Bobby. Bobby was miles away. At some point, although difficult for us to do, we all need to take personal responsibility for our actions and expect the same from others. To keep Bobby away from the funeral is mean spirited, he was Whitney's husband and he is the father of her daughter, whether the family likes it or not. The family ought to demonstrate politeness and the family ought to take look in mirrors as well, they were with Whitney when she past. My deepest sympathy!
