Rodney King

Friends Are Not Buying

Fiancee's Death Story

6/18/2012 5:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0617_rodney_king_tmzTwo close friends of Rodney King think his fiancée isn't telling the truth about what happened leading up to his death ... and they've voiced their suspicions to cops, TMZ has learned.

As TMZ first reported, King's fiancee, Cynthia Kelley, says she was awakened by the sound of King banging on the window of their home just after 5:00 AM on Sunday ... and then heard him fall in the pool.

But sources close to King tell TMZ they heard Kelley tell the story several times to friends ... only the story changed a little bit each time and it seemed to them that she was lying about something.

We're told two of Kelley's friends who spoke with her in the hours following King's death have gone to police and spoke to a detective. Our source says the detective took down their story and their information and said he would be in touch.

Rialto PD say so far they have discovered no signs of foul play, but they are conducting a drowning investigation and will perform an autopsy at some point.

I said in the initial story and I'll say it again;

Foul Play, no doubt about it.

Powell stopped by to say hi...and then tazed him in the deep end. King was a loser and the only good thing he ever did was try to stop the riots. Too bad he never owned up to taking any responsibility for the events of that fateful evening.

The story didn't really make much sense. Hopefully they can sort it out quickly to give some closure to his loved ones and he can rest in peace.

She probably wants to keep the house! Why change the story multiple times? Something else went on and she covered it up by dragging him to the pool.

Who even gives a ****? Dude was an alcoholic drug addict. No one seems to want to remember the real video of him not obeying the cops order and leading them on a huge car chase. Dude has been really ****ed up all these years but no one wants to mention that.

The story the fiancee told definitely did not sound right. I feel she did play a part in his death.

The answers in the insurance policy.

Something fishy in the pool.

One thing you need to know about Rialto PD, is they don't give a **** about some dead *****, they are the most aggressive, racist PD in the U.S. Case closed, it's good to them because there is one less ***** in Rialto.

Does she have a life insurance policy on him? Why would he bang on the window then fall into the pool? Is the pool a foot away from the window?

The LAPD will not find anything suspicious, even if there is. They could really care less about Rodney King.

NOBODY believes the bogus story the fiancee told. It makes no sense that if a guy is knocking on a window of his house in the middle of the night, the chick didn't just LET HIM IN, And I never heard of anyone drowning instantaneously. A splash and he was at the bottom of the pool? Yeah. fishy stuff.

Don't you dare try to blame this on weed.

Right on Q TMZ starts with the finger pointing and speculation with absoloutly no basis of truth what so ever..

I'm not buying this story either, there's more to this story than the former 'girlfriend' is saying. A large man doesn't just fall into a pool and sink to the bottom like a huge sack of flour. Accidental drowning, I'll bet!
