James Holmes took Vicodin 2-and-a-half hours before yesterday's shooting rampage ... this according to a new report.

According to KMGH TV in Denver, Holmes took 100 mg of Vicodin late Thursday night.

Meanwhile a man who lived across the street from Holmes told the NY Post he used to "see him smoking weed behind the apartment." He told the paper, "Nobody ever really talked to him. He was alone a lot."

Holmes remains in custody and is scheduled to be arraigned at 8:30 AM on Monday.

All I can say is that if this guy did Vicodin and marijuana meaning doing/taking both things, its mixture has strong psychological effects, serious ones, they lose their mental state completely and can even believe they are God or like him the JOKER

Yeah, this makes no sense. Is it even possible to take that little of an amount of Vicodin? This has nothing to do with anything. You are just fishing for stories to keep this on the front page!! Find something useful to report TMZ!!

The fact that he felt the need to drug himself before the shooting shows that he maybe didn't really feel right about doing it but somehow in his head he thought it was a good idea anyway. Maybe because someone had talked him into it, say like some new friends from the OWS radical anarchist band, who may have really just been shills from the CIA or something.

Anyway, I think pot makes people somewhat dissociative from reality. The Hydrocodone would just depress the nervous system in general and the Tylenol in it might make you slightly agitated. If he smoked pot as a habit, it could have given him delusions of grandeur, where he felt above other people.

It seems there is a pattern of people not wanting to assoicate with him. They seem like they are even proud of it, making a point to say that no one talked to him. A guy alone outside smoking pot could be a magnet for people who want a hit. Do they never really talk to any of their neighbors or only him and if so, why not?

There is something in sociology called a pecking order where people just abuse those whom they want to get ahead of. Maybe they pecked this guy to the bottom of society when he should have been given credit for being very intelligent and creative. It shows what sort of a demented society he is in if he could be made to feel so excluded that he would resort to this. Many people who are outcast for no reason just resort to suicide, but he turned his anger back at society instead.

damn.. that is ALOT of Vicodin. the average person takes one pill which is either 5, 7.5, or 10mg. so he took between 10-20 depending on dose. but that, nor the WEED had anything to do with this. he was just a nutjob that snapped. doesnt take much nowadays.. all the greed from corporations and people.. companies raising prices for everything making it harder and harder to make ends meet. SNAAAAAAAAAAAAP.

This shooting spree is not about drugs; it's about guns. Please don't give the NRA yet another loophole to climb through.

100mgs of Vicodin is not uncommon(believe it or not). I have know people who taken 30 or more 5/500(150mg at least) or even 20 or more 10/325( Norco) in a day. So i'm not sure why people are saying this is a misprint, it's not...

Like I said 100mgs of 5/500 or 10/325 Norco is very common. With my back problems I have easily taken that in a day, and know people who have taken twice or more then 100mgs. People can also get Hydrocodone without the acetaminophen in it. Vicodin has become a generic term like Coke, but I assure you this is not strange dosage unless you grew up in a box...

Americans aren't smart enough to figure out why this happened they shouldn't waste time trying.

I'm from Aurora. Went to Aurora Mall to see movies as a teen, ran with my track team to the mall and back. Sure, let's find something else to blame (drugs, Batman, movies) instead of making this ******* take responsibility for this bloody atrocity himself. He planned this for months, if not years; why make excuses for him?

I'm pretty sure George W Bush snorted coke before each bull**** speech he made, but that doesn't excuse him for the millions he butchered in Iraq & Afghanistan or the loss of our troops. Today this idiot war criminal is kickin' back on his ranch in Texas; no penalty, no war crimes trial. Un-****ing-believable, America.

When will we demand real personal responsibility, respect and decency from this spoiled-brat society of ours?

Death is too good for this sicko. Give him consecutive life sentences at his own expense for every person he killed, in the worst hell-hole prison we can find, anywhere. Make sure he knows and relives daily what he did to our families in Aurora.

Oh, brother, if that's all they can find out about this guy was that he smoked a joint once in awhile, I don't think that's going to be very useful in profiling these mass killers.

The truth

Vicodin can turn ppl nasty, especially when you are coming out of it. The tylenol in it will cause upset stomach, and for sure constipation. it's clear that this guy had major problems. it reminds me of the unibomber.

My prayers for comfort for the family and friends of the victims. Someone created a memorial page for these victims on Evertalk within Facebook. There is a memorial fund on this page and people can donate to help the families of the victims of this terrible tragedy. Here's the page.

Just because he doesn't talk to a lot of people doesn't mean he is crazy.
Weed mellows people out.
Sounds like he had a mental breakdown but either way, he killed a bunch of people and that is unacceptable. The death penalty sounds reasonable.
