James Jay Lee

James Jay Lee was an environmental extremist who took hostages at the Discovery Channel offices in Silver Spring, Maryland on September 1, 2010. After a standoff, Lee was shot and killed by officers. The three hostages he took were unharmed. Lee had a prior confrontation at the Discovery Channel offices in 2008, when he threw money in the street and created a disturbance. He was ordered to say away from the television station's offices after that incident.
