Brad One Step Closer to Being Dad
In what was the first step towards Brad Pitt becoming the adoptive father of Angelina Jolie's two adopted children, a judge today granted Jolie's requests to change the children's names to Jolie-Pitt.
"The court granted the name change," attorney Evan Spiegel, who represents the actress, told reporters outside court. He did not take questions.
Maddox Chivan is 4-years-old, while Zahara Marley just celebrated her first birthday on Jan. 8. Pitt and Jolie are expecting a child of their own sometime this year.
Pitt is referred to as "the adoptive father-to-be" of each child in court papers filed last month.
Brad and Angelina did not attend the hearing themselves.
Pitt divorced Jennifer Aniston last year after four and a half years of marriage. He has denied that Angelina was behind the cause of the breakup, and for months the couple did not publicly acknowledge their relationship.
For Angelina, marrying Brad would be her third trip down aisle; she is divorced from actors Billy Bob Thornton and Jonny Lee Miller.
