Exclusive: Mariah, Black Eyed Peas to Appear at Soul Train Awards
TMZ has exclusively learned the lineup of performers and presenters at the 20th annual Soul Train Music Awards, set to take place Mar. 4 at California's Pasadena Civic Auditorium. The nationally syndicated show will air Mar. 11 to Mar. 19 at different times and dates.
The artists scheduled to perform at the show include Black Eyed Peas, John Legend, Charlie Wilson, Keyshia Cole, Flipsyde, Chris Brown and the Pussycat Dolls featuring Avant.
In addition, TMZ has learned that Mariah Carey and Lyfe Jennings are confirmed to attend. Carey is nominated for best R&B/soul album, female ('The Emancipation of Mimi') and R&B/soul single, female ('We Belong Together'). Jennings is up for best R&B/soul or rap new artist.
Presenters will include Christina Milian, Kimora Lee Simmons, Donald Faison, Michelle Rodriguez, Randy Jackson of 'American Idol,' Floetry, Hill Harper of 'CSI: NY,' Larenz Tate, Bobby Valentino, T.I., Shemar Moore, Boris Kodjoe and his wife Nikki Kodjoe (previously known as Nicole Ari Parker), James Lesure, Nina Sky, Reggie Bush, Tichina Arnold, Terry Crews, Kyla Pratt and Leela James.
The 2006 Soul Train Music Awards will be hosted by Tyrese Gibson and Vivica A. Fox.
Stevie Wonder will present the Stevie Wonder Award for outstanding career achievement to recipient R. Kelly, who also leads this year's Soul Train Music Award nominees by having three nods. Jamie Foxx will receive the Quincy Jones Award (male), Destiny's Child is the recipient of the Quincy Jones Award (female), and Jones himself will be at the show to present these two awards. Legend will be honored with the Sammy Davis Jr. Award for entertainer of the year.
