Brit Against the World
Kevin Federline is refusing to speak to his ex Britney Spears, and TMZ has learned that Brit's pissed off about it.
According to sources close to the couple, the battle between the two is worse than ever -- with Britney still bitter because she feels that her mother and K-Fed teamed up to "strong arm" her into Promises rehab last February. Sources say Kevin threatened to take the kids away if she didn't seek help for substance abuse -- a problem that Britney now claims she never had. In fact, we've learned Promises never even tested Britney for substance abuse during the first 15 days of her stay. When Promises doctors finally got around to testing her, the results turned up clean.
So here's the deal -- Brit was so ticked off when she got out of rehab, she wouldn't even speak to Kevin. However, in the last month she's come around, for the sake of her two kids, but now K-fed is pissed and refuses to speak with her! We're told Britney has been desperate to get Federline to work with her to agree on nannies, and on which Sunday school the kids will attend -- but Fed Ex won't cooperate.
It gets worse! The couple has a 50/50 custody split, but neither is happy with the arrangement. Now add the fact that Brit wants her mom out of her life, and she's 86'd most of her peeps ... and it's clear her life is in a shambles.
When she wasn't stripping down and crackin' a vertical smile for snappers in Malibu, Britney was having a trashtastic meltdown on the set of a photo shoot for OK! magazine -- reportedly ruining outrageously expensive outfits with grease and dog poop, taking several mood-changing bathroom breaks, and freaking when she thought the ceiling was caving in. While a rep for OK! said the photos of the craziness weren't released because they, "weren't up to standard," TMZ has learned that it's a legal issue -- Brit never signed the photo release forms before storming out of the shoot! Sometimes, even Britney catches a break!
Lawyer's Frantic Move to Save Lindsay
TMZ has learned that in the hours before Lindsay Lohan was busted for DUI, her lawyer knew she was in trouble and was desperately trying to find her.
Sources say last Sunday, just before midnight, mega-lawyer Blair Berk got an ominous signal. The signal came from the SCRAM device that Lindsay agreed to wear on her ankle. The device tests for alcohol use and sounds an alarm to a designated person when alcohol is detected. We've learned that Berk was the designee.
As soon as Berk learned there was a problem, she frantically tried to locate Lindsay. But time ran out before Berk could stop the runaway train wreck. Less than two hours after the SCRAM device signaled, Lindsay was in custody.
Lohan and Bodyguard -- Bullies Behind the Wheel?
If two DUIs in three months weren't enough of a legal pile-up for Lindsay Lohan, now TMZ has learned that she may have pulled some dangerous moves on the road that allegedly led to an accident in April -- and that afterward, her longtime bodythug, Jazman, may have lied about his identity.
Signe Dupuy of Los Angeles tells TMZ that around 4.30 AM on April 26, Lindsay pulled an illegal U-turn in front of her at the intersection of Fairfax and Colgate, veering from the left southbound lane all the way over to the other side of Fairfax -- in "a little black sports car." Then, says Dupuy, a black SUV driven by Jaz (last name: Bennett) cut her off, slicing in from the next lane, at which point her car hit the SUV's back wheel.
Lindsay actually stopped and glared at her, claims Dupuy, before peeling off into the night. Meanwhile, the infamous Jazman was "hostile" and "tried to intimidate" her in the immediate aftermath, according to Dupuy, and when asked for his name and driver's license, gave her the (fake) name "James Clark" and a fake number, which she says was confirmed by Jaz's insurance adjuster.
Dupuy has fired off a letter to Lohan's rep trying to "settle the situation," but says she hasn't heard back. She adds that she's considering filing suit against Bennett and Lohan.
Lindsay's rep tells us she did get the letter but "filed it away," adding "I assumed the letter was sent to [Lindsay's] lawyers . That's what they're paid for."
