10:15 AM PT -- A witness who was inside the club tells TMZ ... Chris Brown did NOT send any bottles over to Drake's table, despite several reports to the contrary.

We're told both Brown and Drake had been hanging out in the VIP section ... when Drake began pointing and yelling at Brown.

Brown began yelling back ... and that's when members of both entourages rushed in and began shoving each other.

With tensions running high, someone threw a bottle -- which set the whole thing off ... and the shoving turned to punches.

We're told club security rushed in to break up the fight ... and called police for backup. Brown and Drake left the scene by the time cops showed up ... but several members of their entourages remained at the club. Multiple members of both crews required medical assistance.

We're told the club suffered some serious damage in the fight -- including busted up tables, broken mirrors, shattered lighting and glass scratches all over the floors.

Chris Brown sustained a nasty gash on his chin -- apparently a wound from a bottle attack -- after his entourage allegedly clashed with Drake's crew in a NYC nightclub brawl.

TMZ has confirmed with the NYPD that the two singers' crews got into a fight at WIP nightclub -- 5 people were injured in the melee.

NYPD arrived on the scene after receiving a call between 4 and 5am. Chris and Drake were not present when cops arrived.

We're told there were no critical injuries ... just bumps, bruises and lacerations. No arrests were made.

After the fight, Brown tweeted a photo of his injury ... along with the message, "How u party wit rich n**** that hate? Lol... Throwing bottles like girls? #shameonya!."

The photo and the message have since been removed from Brown's Twitter page.

There are reports the two started throwing blows (and bottles!) over Chris' ex girlfriend, Rihanna, who Drake is rumored to have hooked up with.

A few hours before the brawl, TMZ shot footage of Drake leaving the London hotel ... surrounded by some diesel-sized hired muscle. No word if they were involved in the bar fight, but wow ... that would be scary.

A picture of Chris Brown's Transformers-themed SUV taken after the fight has surfaced -- with what appears to be blood splattered on the back.

Drake is adamant ... he is not responsible for the bloody gash on Chris Brown's face ... claiming he was simply leaving the nightclub when the brawl broke out ... but sources tell us, the fight started after Chris Brown and a rapper at Drake's table started trash talking each other.

The rapper hanging with Drake -- Meek Mill -- was screaming at Chris and Chris was giving it right back to Meek Mill. One of Chris' lieutenants was also involved in the screaming match.

Our sources would NOT say what specifically they were arguing about -- partly out of fear that someone will get hurt. But we are told the argument was NOT over Rihanna.

One source says Chris was hurt when Meek Mill hit him with a bottle.

A rep for Drake tells TMZ ... "Drake did not participate in any wrongdoing of any kind last night at W.i.P. He was on his way out of the club when the altercation began."

The rep adds, "[Drake] did not engage in any activity which resulted in injury to person or damage to property.”

The Stanley Cup was a whore last night ... because it let all sorts of strangers rub their mouths and butts all over it for hours ... and TMZ has the pics.

The enablers were several members of the world champion L.A. Kings -- who treated Stanley to a night of mayhem at Beacher's Madhouse at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood.

During the show, the Kings were entertained by The Little Kings -- a band of little people dressed up like their NHL counterparts ... who used the cup as a chair when their tiny feet got tired.

We're told the Kings arrived to the party with David Beckham ... and were met at the venue by UFC legend Chuck Liddell ... who filled the cup with beer and had the Kings hoist it up so he could chug with the champs.

But Stanley's night ended early -- 'cause the cup has a curfew. We're told right before midnight, the cup's handlers whisked Stanley out of the venue ... so it could be all gussied up for today's championship parade.

TMZ has learned ... the production company behind Steven Spielberg's dinosaur fighting TV flop is auctioning off all of the vehicles used on the show ... since it was mercifully canceled in March.

The vehicles are modified Land Cruisers and Range Rovers from the early 1980's and 1990's ... and all of the rides include a warning that reads, "Has been modified by MovieWorld Studios for a popular TV show, NOT for road use. Inspection recommended."

The auction, taking place in Australia, is set to end in a few hours ... and, shocker, the asking prices on the cars are still incredibly low -- $2,409 for a 1985 Range Rover and $6,059 for a 1990 Toyota Land Cruiser.

Pretty sweet deal .. if they were actually drivable ... and not hideous ... and not from a terrible television show.
