The dead guy found at this year's Burning Man had a large wound to his throat ... the slash was from a knife, and the blade was recovered at the scene.

Our sources tell us the knife is being forensically examined ... and law enforcement is also going through a phone that was found near the body.

We're told Vadim Kruglov's dead body was found inside a tent pavilion structure near a makeshift bar Saturday night ... lying in a pool of blood.

Major update to the mystery surrounding the dead body discovered at this year's Burning Man ... authorities have identified the festival attendee, who friends said was missing for days before he was named.

According to police in Nevada ... the homicide victim is a 37-year-old native of Russia, named Vadim Kruglov, who lived in Washington State.

Authorities say the Washoe County Medical Examiner's Office identified Kruglov -- found dead in a pool of his own blood Saturday night -- by his fingerprints. Authorities are investigating this case as a homicide ... no suspects have been named.

Festivalgoers looking to get it on at this year's Burning Man are going to have to find another safe space for sex ... 'cause the famed Orgy Dome was just destroyed in a crazy storm.

Yup, the Orgy Dome is totally what you think it is ... a large, tented, air-conditioned festival fixture with beds where people can go to -- consensually and with an ID -- knock one out ... or at least it was before a recent wind storm in Nevada's Black Rock Desert blew it apart.

In a message to IG with a video of the destroyed f*** palace, the group wrote ... "Our build team worked so hard this past week to *erect* our lovely space. Unfortunately, the winds yesterday undid all that labor and wrecked our structure. We are still here and thankfully safe, we hope to gift the playa some workshops and will keep you updated."
