Janet Jackson is a member of one of the most famous families in entertainment history. She’s the daughter of Katherine and Joe Jackson and sister to Rebbie, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, La Toya, Marlon, Randy, and the late Michael and Brandon. She was born on May 16, 1966 in Gary, Indiana. Jackson stepped into the spotlight as a very young girl and released her self-titled album in 1982. She went on to release the popular albums “Control,” “Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814,” “The Velvet Rope,” and more, including two greatest-hits albums, “Design of a Decade” and “Number Ones.” Her hit songs include “Nasty,” “That’s the Way Love Goes,” “What Have You Done for Me Lately,” and many more. She has toured the world, performing her music and high-intensity dance moves for fans spanning the globe. When Jackson headlined the 2004 Super Bowl Halftime Show with Justin Timberlake, she experienced an embarrassing wardrobe malfunction that is still spoken about over a decade later. The entertainer can do it all – sing, write, act, dance, and produce. She appeared on TV in “Good Times,” “Diff’rent Stokes,” and “Fame” and in the films “Poetic Justice,” “Why Did I Get Married Too?,” and “Nutty Professor II: The Klumps.” She’s won GRAMMYs, MTV VMAs, American Music Awards, Billboard Awards, Soul Train Awards, and numerous lifetime achievement honors, including the MTV Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, named after her late brother. Jackson gave birth to her first child, son Eissa Al Mana, on January 3, 2017 at age 50. She and the baby’s father, Qatari businessman Wissam Al Mana, wed in 2012 and announced their split in April 2017. She reportedly converted to Muslim for Al Mana, although she was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness. The third time was not the charm for Jackson. She was previously a Mrs. to James DeBarge (1984) and René Elizonda, Jr. (1991- 2000). She was also in a seven year relationship with producer Jermaine Dupri.
